East Garden, Melaka Raya

August 18th, 2008, Jason

Jian and I headed to town for Amber Chia’s Mahkota Fashion Runway and before heading back to Bukit Beruang, we decided to have something else for dinner. Jian suggested East Garden at Melaka Raya and since I couldn’t come up with anything else, I took his suggestion.

It sure looks like any other cafe in town. The good thing is that it doesn’t smell smokey inside the cafe. On one corner, there’s a work station, which I am not too sure whether one can use it to surf the internet or not. There’s free wifi and newspapers / magazines placed around for diners to surf or read while waiting or having their meal.

Two page menu for food and drinks. Nothing special, nothing significant, nothing different.

Jian ordered a glass of Tiramisu (Yeah, tiramisu has became a drink. WTF!) while I had plain water.

Bored while waiting for our food, I snapped around.

The waiter recommended their fried chicken chop, with different sauce to go along with it. I had one with thousand islands sauce while Jian had his with sweet and sour sauce with sesame seeds. It is served with barely a spoonful of coleslaw, handful of fries and some lettuces, cucumbers and tomatoes for garnishing. Well, its tasted not too bad, but it’s plain normal at the same time.

I had warm longan with white fungus for dessert. It tasted pretty decent, with generous amount of longan inside.

The bill came up to roughly RM25 for the both of us. It wasn’t as expensive as I expected and for the price I am paying, I am not going to be very picky with the taste.

Amber Chia @ Mahkota Fashion Runway

August 15th, 2008, Jason

After feeding me with an exclusive news during her last visit to Malacca, she’s back for another fashion show.

Let me clarify first, this picture wasn’t taken by me but another photographer named Eugene. Don’t look at where you aren’t supposed to look at.

Since she was back in Malacca, I got her to sign my first front page picture on The Star news!

The Star, do I get paid for doing this? LOL.

Menara Taming Sari, Malacca

July 21st, 2008, Jason

Denzuko and friends were in town. As usual, being the *coughs* unofficial *coughs* tour guide for most bloggers out there, I brought them around. It was pretty much the same but this time, I decided to board the Menara Taming Sari.

Well, thanks to our beloved Malacca chief minister who wanted to make Malacca into another Kuala Lumpur by “replicating” Mid Valley Megamall with Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall, Eye on Malaysia with Eye on Malacca, we now have our own version of KL Tower, the Menara Taming Sari. Soon, we might even have our own version of KLCC.

It’s first proposed location was a stone throw away from the Malacca Clock Tower, which later resulted into the findings of the remaining or part of the A Famosa Fort / Porta De Santiago. It was then moved to the current location, which is next to Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall.

Standing tall at 110m, you are going to have a bird eye’s view of Bandar Hilir, Malacca Old Town and Plaza Mahkota.

There are 66 seats inside the “container” (What’s the proper word for it?) and is fully air conditioned. Lets hope they will service the air conditioners from time to time, else its going to be really stuffy inside. It is powered by some big ass machines and motors that don’t look cool or high tech at all.

One minute to go up, another five minutes to spin at the top and another one minute to descend. How much are you going to pay for that boring seven minutes ride? RM10 if you have your MyKad with you. If you don’t, it’s freaking RM20! What a ripoff!

The view? Totally bleargh.

Amber Chia In Malacca Fashion Runway

July 18th, 2008, Jason

Almost a year later, Amber Chia walked the stage during the fashion runway at Mahkota Parade.

She lost a significant amount of weight and honestly, not as pretty as it used to be.

Hmm, pictures weren’t that great.

Singapore Ferrari (Owners) Gathering In Malacca

July 7th, 2008, Jason

17 out of the probably 300 Ferrari-es in Singapore took a drive up to Malacca for a road trip with the last stop at Equatorial Hotel Melaka. Sleepy Hao, Akiraceo Jian and I were there to take some pictures.

P/S : Credits go to Sleepy Hao and Akiraceo Jian.
