6 Dozens Of J.Co Donuts

December 19th, 2007, Jason

My last trip to J.Co Donuts & Coffee made me craved for their donuts every now and then. They are simply addictive and irresistible, almost. The fact that you don’t have any donuts franchise in Malacca isn’t helping at all. I remember Mahkota Parade used to have Dunkin Donuts before the outlet was taken over by Starbucks Coffee some time back.

Hence, after our Bao Bao pan mee brunch, we drove ourselves to Pavilion just to satisfy our donuts cravings. The queue wasn’t that long but it was an hour later when it was my turn. At one point, I was standing right in front of the work station where they make their donuts.

Instead of keep coming back for more of their donuts, I decided to buy a dozen, containing all their varieties, for myself and May Gin.

Well, I didn’t buy for myself only. I also bought another five dozens for Ah Yong’s colleagues, Kai Hong, my sister Jamie and Ah Kit.

6 dozens = 72 donuts = More than RM100 worth of donuts!

Muahahahahhahahaha…!

I also ordered iced Thai tea and iced lemon tea, which two glazzy donuts were given for every beverage. Nothing special about the drinks, however, do try the Thai tea. Heh! I like it.

No introduction is needed for my brother, Ah Yong, who joined us not too long after we bought our donuts. He took half day leave to find time to buy some gadgets for himself.

May Gin, my date for the day. I really love hanging out with her and also her joining my food outings. Although she isn’t willing to spend money on good food like us, she is one who eats heartily, unlike some girls that I know who would say full even before the food is served and / or having one or two bites, afraid of getting fat.

*Munch munch munch*

Now that I have tried all, if not, most of the flavours, I quite like the ones boxed in white. They are more unique in terms of flavours and / or texture. I don’t really like their chocolate banana donuts and mango flavoured donuts. Strawberry wasn’t that bad actually as May Gin helped herself with it.

No more J.Co donuts.

For the mean time.

P/S : Two dozens belonged to Kai Hong, you can read here.

J.Co Donuts & Coffee

There wasn’t any specific or concrete reason for me to come to KL this time, but I still came to KL just to chill out a few days with my buddies and get out from my room. Since I was already there, I took the opportunity to head down to Pavilion to try the J.Co donuts that created much hype in Malaysia and blogsphere lately.

I picked May Gin up at her residence near PJU and then headed down to city center. After missing a few junctions, U-turns and getting lost a little here and there, we reached Pavilion in one piece and unhurt. That was almost 1.5 hours later. -shy-

J.Co Donuts & Coffee.

I queued up while May Gin went to take a seat. The queue wasn’t as long as portrayed at some blogs as it was a weekday. Hence, it was roughly 10 minutes later I was served.

Not knowing what to take and knowing that their signature donut, “Glazzy” donut is free if you order a drink, I randomly picked three donuts - “Why Nut?”, “Oreology” and “AlCaponne”.

“Why Nut?” is American peanut with premium white chocolate as topping. You got to love the white chocolate topping.

“Oreology”, donut with oreo cookie powder(?) on top.

“AlCaponne”, white Belgian chocolate with crunchy California almonds.

“Glazzy”, donut coated with sweet honey. It came with my glass of iced lemon tea.

Honestly, these donuts are definitely better than Dunkin Donuts. It’s irresistible. After trying 4 of them on Thursday, I was already thinking of going back there the following day to get more of the donuts. The donuts are soft and spongy. Just the right amount and not too much of flour are used, which is a very common practice in other donuts. The donuts won’t give you a bloated feeling after that. It’s nice, really!

Gosh! I want to have my hands on these donuts again!
