5 Ks and 4 Ps

April 9th, 2008, Jason

I read this from Kai Hong’s blog and it really got me laughing out loud. It was a conversation between him and a Singaporean friend but I am leeching out the main points only.

Singaporeans have 5 Ks - Kiasi, Kiasu, Kia Bor, Kia Boh and Kia Zheng Hu, which translate to afraid to lose, afraid to die, afraid to lose, afraid of wife and afraid of the government / 怕输, 怕死, 怕没有, 怕老婆, 怕政府!

Malaysians have 4 Ps - Pang Sai, Pang Jio, Pang Pui and Pang Pui Ki, which translate to (simply / loves to) shit, pee, fart and fly kite /

Haha!

P/S : I have ran out of things to blog already, hence, slow updates probably for the next few weeks.

Palm Reading

March 31st, 2008, Jason

There was a gathering for the media people at Mahkota Parade’s KFC. Coincidently, there was a senior who knows palm reading. Out of curiosity, I asked him to look at mine.

Senior : “What do you want to know?”
J : “When I will graduate?”
Senior : “……” *Looks carefully*
Senior : “About this, instead of you, its the people around you that are worried about your situation.”
J : “Haha!” *sweat*

=======================================================================================================

Senior : “He should live for quite a long time.”
J : “Oh?”
Senior : “Your life line (red colour) is very long, but you will fall sick at a later time, but it’s not a big problem.” *points to another line (yellow colour)*
J : “Really? Haha!” *continues to eat my oily KFC*

Do I Look Like A Malay?

January 28th, 2008, Jason

While walking towards the concourse area at Mahkota Parade, a credit card salesman approached me. (Not again. -roll eyes-)

“Encik, kredit kad apa yang kamu guna?”
“Sir, what credit card do you use?”

I stopped and looked at him.

“……”
“……”

“我很像马来人么?”
“Do I look like a Malay?”

And I walked away.

There was a LG KU990 Viewty roadshow going on at the main entrance of Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall and I was walking towards the mall.

The LG hot chick promoter approached me.

“Ini handphone model terbaru dari LG. Nak tengok?”
“This is the latest mobile phone from LG. Do you want to have a look?”

I stared at her for a second or two.

“我很像马来人么?”
“Do I look like a Malay?”

“哈哈!不好意思。有一点咯,你晒到很黑嘛!”
“Haha! I’m sorry. Actually, you do look like one as you are very dark.”

“……”
“……”

And these weren’t the first time. I have many people / newly-met-work-related people asking me, “So, are you a Chinese or mixed?”.

Do I really look like a Malay?

P/S : By the way, the LG KU990 Viewty touch screen phone is really cool and I am seriously considering about it. My birthday is around the corner, anyone willing to spare some money?
