RM300,000 Worth And 25 Minutes Of Architecture Fireworks In Malacca
June 4th, 2008, Jason
On May 30, the federal government decided to burn RM300,000 worth of fireworks into the sky for no concrete reason but as part of the Citrawarna Malaysia (Colours of Malaysia) program. Yes, just a pure night of 25 minutes long architecture fireworks.
For that, all photographers came fully prepared with tripod, hoping to capture this once in a lifetime money burning event. However, for every photographers’ nightmare, the worst thing we could ever hoped for all came in one night.

I was at the 21st floor of Equatorial Hotel Melaka. Imagine whenever the thunder stroke, I was so afraid that it might just struck all of us at the balcony. The wind at high ground practically could blow off my umbrella. Yet, it was one heck of an experience. Out of the 600 photos we have, there were only 60 usable, that’s 10% for you.
Photo credits and gazillion thanks to the photographers Fish Ee, Eugene, Robin (Click to see more!), Monica, Ken and Razul. Also a shout out to the public relations manager, Grace and Chris, for allowing us to go through their presidential suite and into the balcony at the 21st floor.

Note : Some people from the department who organized this event said they didn’t get a bomoh to pray for good weather, which normally they would. Hehe! Do you believe in that?
