Marriott Singapore Hotel And Singapore Night View

January 5th, 2009.

Categories: Living...

As mentioned in the previous post, Nuffnang put us, Malaysia bloggers, into Singapore Marriott Hotel, which is located at Orchard Road. Considering its location and brand, its definitely not going to be cheap. Kudos to Timothy for being so generous with us!

I was expecting the room to be much more spacious but I guess lands in Singapore are really expensive.

LCD tv with almost 40 channels.

Inside the closet.

The bathroom.

Toiletries. The bath gel, shampoo, facial soap and even the lotion smell like ginger, as if it was mixed with loads of blended ginger. I smelled like a ginger when I came out from my bath.

After the Nuffnang-vPost Christmas Party, Robin and I left the place for a quick photo shoot at Esplanade and also Marina Bay. We also walked to Merlion Park, which is about 15 minutes walk from Esplanade.

I shall post a bigger resolution of the same picture at my photo blog soon. You can subscribe to the blog’s RSS Feed if you don’t want to miss my updates.

Marcus Pang, a friend of Robin, came to join us and also brought us around. We had a yamcha session at Coffee Bean.

Unlike Robin who woke up at 7am to go out and meet Marcus for more photo shoot, I slept almost until 11am before waking up to bathe and check out. Of course, I had breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant, only to find out later that it wasn’t included with our room. The breakfast was SGD34, ouch! Anyway, I sure heck enjoyed the breakfast though. Pork bacon, something you will never get in Malaysia’s hotels.

That was my really brief stay at Singapore. It was short but good nonetheless.

Pork bacon! My favourite! But very unhealthy also. And yeah, it’s quite rare to find it in Malaysia unless you go for german restaurant. Anyway, never been to Marriott Singapore before but considering the price tag…i think it better be good. :)

As always, excellent pictures taken with knowledge, clarity and sensitivity. These night shots show the beauty of nightscenes in Singapore. These pictures, as well as others in your photoblog, proofs you have stamped your own trademark and have improved tremendously.

But don’t stop where you are. Keep it up and do continue to impress us with more beautiful pictures.

^ i agree with Edwin. Once I was in Nagoya, and we were assigned to a hotel room each because it was just nice to squeeze through the door into my room with my huge suitcase. Unbelievably SMALL but how i love the smart toilet (with seat warmer on winter… simple pleasures) LOL.

Singapore is not too exsy when you know where to go. I stayed in a hotel just behind Orchard (Orange Grove Rd next to Shangri la for $100 a night with two breakfast, not bad at all) It’s definitely upgrade from backpackers’ hotel with comfort.

Ginger…? I guess you mean lemongrass, right? It’s xiang1 mao2 (serai) that used to cook sambal, curry… Saw them on the label. Nice night view shots!

Alvin Lim : Tell me which delicious stuffs are healthy? LOL. The breakfast spread has enough varieties and selections to make me a happy man. Hehe.

Jian : Maybe its lemon or lemongrass.

Chong : That is so “formal”. LOL.

Che-Cheh : But ginger on your hair? Thank you.

Edwin : Hehe. I heard there are hotels which have rooms of a size of a coffin. LOL.

Felicia : If I am to go there for holiday, it will be a fully paid or family or when I have a really fat income. Haha!

    Victor : Thanks!

    Xin : Thanks Xin!

    Bryan : Thank you.

Allison : It could be lemon too. Haha! Can’t really recall already.

Cely : Long shutter speed will create a water “curtain” effect. Try it on your camera and you will see instant result.
