Pantai Seafood Village, Round 3

Not knowing where to eat and Nee craving for seafood, I decided to just drive to Kayu Ara’s Pantai Seafood Village for a quick dinner. Well, this is my third visit to the restaurant. You can read my first and second visit by clicking on the links.

Upon arriving, the dinner crowd hasn’t really arrived in full capacity. As it was only two of us, we were seated upstairs this time where the tables were smaller and the environment was generally quieter too.

The waiter came and recommended us a few dishes. We wanted to have curry crabs but they didn’t have curry flavour and the waiter suggested sweet and sour, which also has spiciness in it. It turned out to be a mistake as their sweet and sour didn’t really cut it. Nee was disappointed with the crabs. Try not to order this, if possible. The sweet and sour crab came with a loaf of bread at RM3 per stick. The bread has a different texture, something like fish / chicken meat instead of the fluffy texture.

We also ordered their braised home made tofu, that came with a piece a abalone meat on it. The gravy tasted like the gravy of the mushroom and vegetable dish that you always have during a 7 course Chinese meal. The tofu was good, soft and smooth but not the gravy.

Deep fried mantis prawn cooked in kam heong style. Crunchy and a little spicy. Not too bad.

The bill came close to RM100, with the crab taking up RM39 and tofu RM20. A little on the expensive side but that’s because there were only two of us. If we had more people like our second visit, it would be a very cheap and fulfilling meal. As for my third visit, I would rate it as a slight disappointment. However, the restaurant is worth trying.

Chingy : It’s expensive because there’s only 2 person footing the bill. Check out my second visit and tell me if its expensive.

Jamie : Your comment is the same as Chingy’s.

Kim Fei : So does yours. :P

KLJS : They have many more dishes, not just prawns. Don’t worry about it.

    Jayce : Yummy…

Hiew : Nice to meet you too!

Superhero W : Haha! I am sure she does, maybe even you too.

Slowcatchupkuan : Haha! Well, you can grab something nice for dinner then. ;)

Sbd18 : Haha! Try to click on the link to my second visit, then you might have a different opinion about this restaurant. ;) However, I will try to visit the one you mentioned if I ever have the chance. :)

Mama Bok : Haha! It’s expensive because there’s only 2 people sharing the bill. The last time we dine there with 8 people, we had really a lot of food and each one only came up to RM30. Heh! Do click on the link of my second visit.

Kee Yit : That’s not man tao ler. :P Haha! The crab didn’t taste that good, should have gone for other flavour.

Rhinosss : Yes, their crabs are priced at RM35 per kg. A little expensive compare to other restaurants that sells around RM25 - RM30. 3%, I noticed that, but nobody’s complaining, right? LOL.
