HP Pavilion dv2504tu
September 14th, 2007, Jason
Meet my notebook (HP Pavilion dv2201tx)’s sister, named HP Pavilion dv2504tu.
I got it for a good deal, at RM3299 after a whopping RM800 discount. Thanks to Zara’s and Zaria’s Mama. Then, I added another RM300 to change the DDR2-RAMs from 1GB (2 * 512MB) to 2GB ( 2 * 1GB).
It has all the same specifications as mine, except the processor runs at 1.8GHz T7100 (instead of 1.83Ghz T5600) and comes with a finger print reader (which I think is rather useless). You can check the specifications by clicking here.

Little Sis, Sook Ying

Warning : This post has no meaning to anyone other than the person featured and myself. Hence, there’s no reason for you to read the whole post and then pass any judgments. Shit load of shiok sendiri elements ahead. Thank you.
For the last 2 months, I have been meeting up with a female blogger quite frequently a lot, seriously a lot. If you are guessing that female blogger is JiNz even my title has stated otherwise, then you are wrong and not very smart. After all, I have featured her not once, but twice, it should be more than enough.
From home cooked chicken rice at her house to Jogoya Restaurant at Star Hill Gallery, Sushi Groove at 1U to Italiannies and Sakae Sushi at The Curve, she was the blogger that accompanied me to all these outings and she is none other than Emily or better known as Sook Ying.
Who is Sook Ying? This is Sook Ying.

Sook Ying, like Jinlan, Juliana, Carol, Kai Hong, Timothy, Mikel and many more, is a blogger. A Mandarin blogger, to be exact, and like others, I got to know Sook Ying through blogging and our friendship certainly didn’t stay in the cyber-world.
It was her first comment at one of my posts that made her first presence felt. It wasn’t long when we added each other on MSN Messenger and started our odd hours chat sessions.
Odd hours because I am in Malaysia while she is in Flagstaff, United States of America (35°11′57″N 111°37′52″W). The time difference? A freaking 15 hours behind Malaysia’s time. Hence, during weekends, she had to stay up until late night while I had to stay awake until early in the morning so that we could catch up with each other and crapped whatever that popped into our mind.

At that time, she just settled down at Northern Arizona University. Transition period, I would say. Hence, I tried my best to chat with her, encourage her and listen to her whenever she needed that extra hand or ear. Of course, I would be sleeping like a log throughout the weekend’s day time.
It was at this time when we created our own way to say bye bye.
Jason : “Nur Nur!”
Sook Ying : “Huh?”
Jason : “Haha! Typo for ‘Bye Bye’! Move your fingers one button to the right of each character for ‘B’, ‘Y’ and ‘E’, then you get ‘Nur Nur’ loh. Typo only.”
Sook Ying : “Haha! I see. Then, from now on, ‘Nur Nur’ will be our ‘Bye Bye’ oh! Ok?”
Jason : “Har? Really?”
Sook Ying : “Yes. Nur Nur!”
Jason : “……”
Since then, “Nur Nur” has been our “Bye Bye” and even until today, I find it amusing. 真是好气又好笑。 It was also then Sook Ying started to call me Ger Ger (brother) while I, too, started calling her Mei Mei (sister).
Fast forward to June 2006, Sook Ying was back in Malaysia for summer holiday and of course, we took the chance to meet up for the first time. We had lunch together at 1U’s Vietnamese Kitchen, which was really tasty and satisfying. Despite meeting for the first time, she wasn’t afraid to even join me for a movie. I remember it was Bruce Willis’ “16 Blocks” and that was my first time watching a movie in 1U new wing’s GSC cinema too.

Sook Ying, despite being 20 years old, is still acting like a small little girl, and the moment she saw the Chipsmore’s monster posing at the oval center court, she got excited and even wanted to take picture with it. At that time, she hasn’t dyed her hair and still had this fresh looking next door girl look, something that I was greatly fond of. I mean, its not easy to find a girl who still has natural black hair nowadays.

That was our first meet up and certainly, it wasn’t our last. She went back to US after that but came back again after a year, which we met up again during my recent KL trip. Well, that was how we first got to know each other, our first meet up and subsequent meet ups.
I didn’t subscribe to her blog’s RSS feed or read every single posts she blogged, hence, there were just that much of information I could gather before I first met her. Although we cannot judge a person based on his or her blog, but for a personal cum lifestyle blog like mine or hers, the person’s character is displayed rather clearly in the blog. Your blog is what you are and you are what your blog is, at least, for my blog, it is. Meeting up is easy but getting to know personally and in depth is the difficult part.
The most significant features when I first met her got to be her face structure and hair. Her face structure belongs to the kuaci or oval shape. In Chinese, 瓜子脸. Coupled with her natural shoulder length black hair, I got to say, you have a blogger that has the cute factor and next-door-girl look. Looking at that cute face of hers, you know she’s the very friendly type and definitely, very cheeky too.

Now, do you agree with me that she does have an oval shaped face? However, she went to dye her hair to blond/gold when she came back this time. -cries-
Honestly, I don’t know her very well or like the back of my palms. I only know that she loves a very sissy Singaporean singer JJ 林俊杰, Winnie the Pooh, Harry Potter, watching movies, traveling and eating yet that didn’t deter me from writing a dedicated post for this little sister of mine. Now, what made me remember her the most is not her cute looks but rather how sweet and thoughtful she is.

It was Christmas season (2006) and things weren’t any different from my normal days. However, when I came back from class one day, there was a letter addressed to me. The sender was no one else but Sook Ying, who sent me a customized and personalized Christmas card all the way from US. It would be good enough if its an electronic card, but she opted to do it the conventional way, snail mail. I am very sure you, too, understand the heart warming feeling when someone (except banks) sends you a letter. What more when I got it from Sook Ying, a friend that I only met once and yet had the heart and thoughts to wish me from the other side of the world.

Just when you thought it’s an one time event, she sent a postcard to me while / after traveling in New York. Seriously, the second time was even more heart warming and touched than the first time. Its all these little things that make you feel appreciated or loved. In the post card, she wrote that she was hoping that I could fly over to Flagstaff, US and attend her graduation. -sweat- She also suggested that we go for a holiday trip and sight seeing before making the trip back to Malaysia. As much as I wanted to, I don’t have enough time to save that amount of money and certainly, there won’t be any sponsorship.

Of course, things certainly didn’t end here. She also brought souvenirs during her trip to New York and China, which she repeatedly forgot to pass finally passed to me, even until today. Nonetheless, it’s the thoughts that count. Sad to say, I didn’t get her anything when I was in Bali. I didn’t do that on purpose but rather there’s nothing to buy in Bali. Ha! Not my fault, right?

Another thing is that how she looks into your eyes and pleads you to do something for her. It wasn’t the first time she did this and I fall for it. I remembered she took this huge glass of green tea sorbet while we were at Jogoya. She took the glass, drank a mouthful of it (about 1/4) and then put it down.

I was munching my curry powder crabs away when she then suddenly said something.
Sook Ying : “哥~”
Sook Ying : “Gor~”
I looked up and saw her eyes, which she then looked at the 3/4 fulled glass of green tea sorbet. I looked at the glass and knew what she was going to say but I acted I didn’t know.
Jason : “做么?”
Jason : “What?”Sook Ying : “我吃不完。”
Sook Ying : “I cannot finish it.”Jason : “看啦!酱贪心,拿酱多又吃不完!”
Jason : “See! So greedy. Take so much but cannot finish!”Sook Ying : “哥~”
Sook Ying : “Gor~”Jason : “拿来。死鬼!”
Jason : “Give me. Si Hantu!Sook Ying : “呵呵。”
Sook Ying : “Kekez.”
She would look into your eyes with her puppy eyes, act innocent and then brainwash you to do the things she wanted you to do. Some more with her cute little face, how could you resist or have the heart to say no to her. Fine, her eyes aren’t as powerful as Jedi’s mind trick but when she acts like that, it just works. Maybe it’s just me but I have fallen for this at least twice, or more. Damn! Although I would still whack any food that is shoved to me, but that’s another story.

I sometimes get really stressed out when I hang out with certain people, afraid that I might really bore them to their skull which most of the time, I really do. Yet, hanging out with her is more on the relaxing side because I know feel that she doesn’t mind how the atmosphere turns out. I could be quietly munching away my food or driving my car while she helped herself with her day dreaming or soul searching sessions. Many times I have seen her staring at one direction and not responding to other people. If there is someone else with us, even better, I can totally ignore her indulge myself with the food on the table.
Another thing that she has is this charisma that makes you feel like protecting and pampering her. Not even I said so, even Nee said so. In fact, she’s like this very obedient girl or sister that will listen to you or agree to whatever you have suggested, reasonably. In fact, I won’t be surprised if she’s a favourite for mother-in-laws. Coupled with her sweetness and understanding, am very sure she’s a girl friend material. Don’t you think so? If she can treat her friends so nice, why not the better for her own boy friend, right? Unless she practices double standard, then, it will another story.

When I was in KLIA to send her off, I really felt sad for a short moment because I know I will definitely miss her a lot. Is this what you called “feeling attached to / with”? In fact, I was so tempted to give her a big hug before she walked down the escalator but “someone” else was there and I didn’t know how to. Disheartening indeed.

How I wrote about her maybe a little misleading and create some misconception. Yet, there’s nothing going on between us except that she treated me like her elder brother and vice versa. I certainly like the sharing is caring, understanding, sweet and humble character of hers. Well, that’s Sook Ying to me and certainly, certainly, these aren’t just the reasons that why I really like her as my cute little sister.
