1. Why GIRLS go clubbing?
For the music, dance and/or wash eyes on guys (sadly, none worth looking out for in mlk..if u know any, drop me a line. photo justification required).

2. Why GUYS go clubbing?
For the music, drink beer and/or get drunk and wash eyes on girls (there's still lil bit of hope for guys in mlk, lucky b*stards)

3. Why music so loud?
Generally, so that guys/girls who're high on alcohol can still hear the music even though their brains are no longer processing it.
Benefit for guys: It gives them good reason to stand and speak closer to the 'targeted' girl's ear and have a whiff of her perfume/sweet smelling hair and maybe have a tiny orgasm at the same time. Another benefit for guys (usually jerks), they may move in closer by easing the girl closer to him by putting his hand lightly on her waist/shoulders and surprise..surprise, they always end up staying there. These kind girls should stay away from, they have HAMSAP in bright neon lights over their heads.
Benefit for girls: Can pretend not to hear the guy calling her or trying to get her attention bcos the music is so loud and she's bz dancing/checking out other guys. ;)

Besides, like teddy said, if u wanna talk go to cafe/pubs where it's quieter. I think beer gardens serve cheaper beer? Could be wrong. But I think beer gardens are mostly occupied by uncles so the chicks there are usually aunties. Or most cheapskate wan, buy from hypermart, gather friends, drink at home. No worries bout driving home when drunk. If in hotel room, u've the benefit of not cleaning up the aftermath, i.e. puke

4. Why crowded also syok?
For guys - good excuse to accidentally brush against chicks, without having to dance (as most guys, can't)
For girls - dancing closely with another gf turns guys on. To be fair, maybe the girls also want to have an excuse for brushing against guys. haha

5. Too crowded until cannot dance?
Not a problem if you've got decent territorial skills, you can use chairs and your body to slowly create your own space. Doing this while dancing is best, for girls..jz pretend u've no receptors on your skin watsoever and keep backing up against the crowd with ur butt, hips, elbows and arms. For guys, dance about by hopping about and doing lotsa legwork and point your fingers all over the place..ppl will make way for fear of getting their eyes poked. Once u've got enuf space, make sure you use it. Note of caution: beware of guys bigger sized than yourself and cigarattes in hands.

6. Overcharging
I believe it's related to crowd control, to weed out those who cannot afford. Otherwise it'll be even more crowded. So on public holidays, certain mlk clubs will have cover charge. But if u're a regular, get to know the managers and bouncers at the club..comes in handy for special occassions (free entrance, finding a table) and when there're fights.

have fun but don't drink and drive!!!

oh, happy belated bday, pei san!!!! nice dress =)

hey jason,
well, when you say you go clubbing, basically you are there to enjoy the music, DANCE and just let loose, regardless of who you are with. But if you want to just chill with your friends, have a long chat over beer, thats not clubbing lar.. that one go pub or casual bars.
I do not know about ur place, but every single club in Kuching cannot make it one. They claim themselves to be clubs, but then they do not even have dance floor or stage, or if they have one, it would be so small that probably can fit 2-3 people only. And they all have many many tables and chairs, suggesting for people to sit back and relax... yet their music is pumped up so loud, you just cant hear anything coming out from any mouths.
Oh, not to mention the music selection usually sucks too... not that I am complaining that much, though clubbing in Perth is nothing to shout about, but at least its real clubbing rather than what I find in Kuching generally.
I am asuming melaka clubs arent that dissimilar from Kuching clubs...
