Last Saturday, we had our family meeting gathering again, after 8 months since our previous gathering. Yes, we didn’t even manage to gather everyone during Chinese New Year. Weird, right?
Attendees were (in zig-zag format)
Pei San,
Shaly,
Suet Lei,
Yih Tian,
Chun Kit,
Chee Yong,
yours truly (no picture),
Li Sui,
and Pei San’s boy friend, Steven.

Agendas for the #6423 gathering were
1) Pei San’s belated birthday celebration (July 31).
2) Fellowship at a steamboat restaurant at Malim Jaya.
3) Another fellowship at Sunshine Bar, Melaka Raya.
For RM10 per head and 9 people, you will get a plate of vegetables, three types of mushrooms, seafoods like crabs, prawns and sotongs, meats like fish and pork, assorted meats like siew mais, meat balls, dumplings, tau fu, noodles, bee hoons and eggs.
The restaurant is called Tan Catering. The restaurant is situated behind the Malim’s market and food court. Please call me at my phone number for directions.

Like all steamboats restaurant, you can opt for the hot and spicy tomyam or the mild chicken soup or both flavours in one pot. The taste? Nothing to shout about. The only good thing about the steamboat here is cheap and taste not bad. Of course, the variety of dishes available for steamboat-ers or those who come for a hearty dinner. They also served western dishes like chicken chops, steaks, fish and chips, porridge steamboats, and other pan and work dishes, just like any other Chinese restaurants.

After whacking up everything except the plate of noodles, we still ordered a plate of fried rice, fried bee hoon and Hokkien noodles. As usual, I felt as if I didn’t eat anything even after all the food. Blame it on the time I used to peel crabs’ shell for Yih Tian.

We adjourned to Sunshine Bar at Melaka Raya after that. Sunshine Bar is one of the most happening clubs in this half dead historical town. The other bars that I know which are quite happening are Pure Bar, Aloha Dance Club & Bistro and Station 3. I am not pretty sure about others though.
Sunshine Bar is unique on its own the latest club-ers’ favourite because it is situated next to the sea. Yes, the bouncers can actually throw you into the sea. Below the bar is pools of waters, something like a floating bar which I don’t find it amusing special.
Music played by the DJ is rather lame old school. I was wondering why would the DJ played the World Cup theme song by Ricky Martin, which was like 8 years or more ago? I wouldn’t mind if they play Beyonce’s or Destiny Child’s though. Ha! Sound system? Aloha has better ones which can easily almost pump your heart, the weak ones, out.
The beers? A bucket of 5 bottles of small Carlsberg is roughly around RM64.

There, tucked at the far corner of the pub, we celebrated Pei San’s birthday. The usual stuffs lor, sing “Happy Birthday”, make a wish, cut the cake and eat the cake. However, where’s the complimentary Flaming Lamborghini for birthday boys and girls? I thought its a “custom” for most pubs?

Happy Belated Birthday, Pei San!
Practically, that was how we celebrated Pei San’s birthday.
That aside, I wonder why there are so many people love to go clubbing. The music is so loud till you can’t hear clearly what the person sitting next to you talking about. The place is so flooded with people till you can’t even move that freely without landing your hands on someone’s body and yet you said you want to dance. There are many places that sell cheaper beers compare to these places where they practically over charge for everything and anything.
Ignore me, it’s just me. I can’t dance. I don’t like beers. I don’t like loud musics. It’s just me. Clubbing? Neh! I wouldn’t mind tagging along if invited or given a choice, but I definitely won’t suggest it.
