Mid Terms

I feel like putting a bullet into my head and end all these miseries and the never-seems-to-end ending cycle.

Still, there’s a long road to be walked.

Still, there’s a long road to be walked.
For your information, my house mates and I practically visit the same restaurant every dinner since they started their business. The food is only average but somehow, we just keep visiting again and again. Hence, every weekend, we try to go for something different or something more “expensive”. This weekend was none other than Nando’s barbecued chicken. The last time I had Nando’s was April 8th, 2005 with Hwa Yinn.

Clockwise from top left, Gabriel, Raymond, yours truly and Leo.

We ordered a set of peri-peri platter, which consists of one full chicken, two large servings of rice, one large serving of coleslaw, salad and fries each. The whole set is RM43.80, definitely cheaper than ordering a plate of a quarter chicken with two side dishes for RM12.80. On top of that, we ordered a set of soup and bread for RM7.90, which is free flow / eat all you can eat. With four people to share that RM7.90, its nothing but cheap.
First to come was Gabriel’s jumbo coffee, followed by Raymond’s Vietnamese coffee and lastly, my mango smoothie. I got to say, the mango smoothie was superb. Not only the ice was blended thoroughly, the texture was really smooth with not even a single piece of ice remained in it. Topped with whipped cream and condensed mango juice. Heavenly.

We had our soup bowl and Leo went to scoop a bowl of mushroom soup and ordered garlic bread. Their mushroom soup tasted way better than the diluted soup served at Pizza Hut. In fact, at the bottom of the pot, you have small pieces of chicken meats and mushrooms. Dipped the soft and aromatic garlic bread into the soup and in no time, we were all fighting for it and asking for more. At the end of the meal, we had like six bowls of soup and like 20 or more pieces of bread.

One by one, our dishes started to come. Fresh salad, a mixture of cucumbers, tomatoes and cabbage tossed with a little bit of garlic oil. Fresh, crunchy and juicy. Even Raymond who doesn’t eat vegetables had a spoonful of it. Coleslaw tasted delicious as well because all the vegetables were fresh and most importantly, it was served cold!

Nando’s is one of the best places if you want to eat fries. Their fries are big, fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Even McD’s fries is not up to their standard. I was afraid that they would be serving us the meridian rice (or something like that) because I remembered the rice was awful and I didn’t finish it. They served just normal fried rice, which tasted not too bad compared to the meridian rice.

Finally, the chicken. We ordered mild because Raymond was having sore throat and not feeling well. Hence, the flag that said “Tickles your taste bud”. I would have gone for the extra peri-peri hot if not because of that. Friends said it was so hot that they cried or not able to finish it. I am not sure, yet to try. Chicken was barbecued over stove into perfection, with golden brown crispy skin and juicy meat.

And what’s Nando’s without their sauce, right? Although it was written flaming hot peri-peri sauce, all I could taste was sour. Yes, sour. Where did the spiciness go? I have no idea.

Let the feast begin,

and end.

Heh! Yes, again! -wink-
Debbie, told you that you will get nightmares after seeing my picture video. Believe me now? Heh! First time was November 2005.
On another hand, I just managed to get my hands on the opening video of GACC 2007, made by Edo.
I got to say, the video is really impressive and nice. Even the crowds cheered when their favourite scenes / animes / comics / characters showed up. The original version is in high definition video, which is 144Mb. I have re-shot the video using my phone to upload it to YouTube. Again, credit goes to Edo, who does a lot of graphics related freelance job. If you need one, you can drop a message at his blog.
Just watch!

One fine night after our mid term examination, we were about to head out to our local mamak for supper when raindrops started to fall on our head (Click here to listen to the song. Oldies still rocks!).
“Raindrops are falling on my head…” -humming-
Anyway, among the group was Chi Ho (Too much of engineering will fry your brain.),

Alexander,

Gabriel,

Raymond,

and yours truly.
Jason : “Starting to rain. Hmm…”
Gabriel : “Raining. So how?”
Jason : “McDonald’s for supper? I got lots of coupons!”
Alexander : “Buy one free one? Good idea.”
Raymond : “Nooo…!”
Gabriel : “Do we look like we have a choice since he’s driving?”
Alexander : “Oh yeah baby!”

And so, we headed out for McDonald’s at Dataran Pahlawan.

Due to “Buy One Free One” coupons and coupon limitation, we could only order McChicken McValue set. Each coupon entitles to one McChicken burger, one McFish dippers, two large cokes and two large fries. There were five of us and we ordered three sets.
Hence, ended up with six large cokes (Orange McFizz is still the best beverage in McDonald’s.),

six large fries which ended up like a big pile of fries,

four McChicken burger (One was given extra by the employee.), three McFish dippers (One is missing from the picture.) and two country grilled chicken burger.

Now you see.

Now you don’t.

One of the things that Alexander would do when he got high after eating McD, smoking french fries.

And that was our supper before we hit our books again. Hence, don’t be surprised if you don’t see any updates for the next week or slow updates. To be honest, I am equally dead this time because with three all new programming language and computer systems to learn, I foresee another gruesome, cruel, heartless and sleepless nights.
No more McDonald’s for the next one or two months.
GACC ‘07 is an event organized by MMU’s Emina Club, which it stands for games, anime, comic and circle. It’s quite a huge event for this year considering that they managed to invite a seiyu (Anime voice actor) to come over to sign autographs for the fans in MMU. On top of that, they have cosplay (costume playing) competition, PS2 games competition for Soul Caliber III and Tekken 5, Gundam model kit DIY competition, character design competition, World of Warcraft trading card / game card competition and exhibitions / booths by sponsors and shop outlets.
First of all, meet Edo, who is a blogger whose blog I read all the time and also the president of Emina Club. You should check out the opening video that he made for GACC ‘07. Edo, can upload to YouTube?

I’m just publishing a few pictures as other pictures are going to be copyrighted soon.

Japanese Seiyuu (voice actor), Toru Furuya. He’s the person behind Amuro Ray of Mobile Suit Gundam.

Gundams! These people are really hardcore. The artwork on the models are superb.
