Pak Putra’s Tandoori Chicken
October 19th, 2006, Jason
When you are craving for a meal of delicious and finger licking good Tandoori Chicken and Naan, head down to Taman Kota Laksama’s Pak Putra Restaurant.

Tandoori chicken, a Punjabi delicacy that is made famous by the Mamaks and Indians. The chicken is marinated with herbs, spices, curry powder, turmeric powder, garlic, ginger, red chilies and a whole lot more of not-so-secret secret ingredients. The chili powder gives the chicken a super bright red colour. On the other hand, naan is more like the instant version of white bread and tastes a bit like pizza’s crust. Both items are baked in an oven, also known as tandoor.

When you are at Pak Putra Restaurant, do try out their naans especially their double cheese naan and garlic naan, not to leave out their tandoori chicken. They have other northen India’s cuisine, but I never try out because the price is a little steep for me.
Their tandoori chicken is grilled to perfection, not over cooked or too dry. The tenderness of the chicken is maintained thoroughly and its juicy as well. They are not stingy with their ingredients, hence, the flavours are strong and the taste will linger inside your mouth after you finish your meal. However, it is very spicy, as in very spicy. If you can’t take chilies, don’t bother ordering unless you want to suffer throughout your meal. It is served with a plate of special home made sauce, which the ingridients are cili padis, mint, lime and etc. It goes well with the chicken.

This mamak stall was once featured in The Star, which was written by my colleague.
However, do take note that this mamak shop closes around 2AM. Hence, be early if you want to try the tandoori chicken.
P/S :
I have create a sub category “Eating… In Malacca“, since there was a request for me to compile all Malacca’s delicacies into 1 post. By doing so, it would be easier for you to go through the food that are available in Malacca and you might even can make a check list out of it.
However, I realized that there are a lot more food which I have yet to blog and discover. Ironically, I haven’t even blog about the most famous Malacca’s chicken rice ball.
