Bitchy People And Yu Heng 宇恆

September 7th, 2006, Jason

The other day, Someone came to town to promote her latest product. Someone became quite popular recently, especially among the younger generations. Thinking that I might get a chance to take a picture with someone and also earn a little bit of cash, I went to the venue and found out that I was the only person who came for the function.

Upon arriving, I introduced myself to the staffs of Someone and told her that I have 2 (Read : 2, TWO, DUA, , RENN DEH.) to ask. After all, 2 questions won’t take much time, right?

“I am Jason from some company, and I want to ask Someone 2 questions. Can I talk to Someone after the session ended?”

“I am sorry. But we are really rushing back to KL, and I don’t think we have the time to answer your questions.”

“But, its just 2 questions. It won’t take much time, roughly 5 to 10 minutes.”

“Still, I don’t think we can do so. We are indeed running out of time and Someone has something on at 10AM tomorrow.”

“Just a little while only woh.”

“Why not you give us a call tomorrow and conduct the interview through telephone?”

“……”

“Or I can give you the press statement?”

“……”

Damn shit, right? If I could conduct the interview through telephone, why am I still working when my supervisor could have done it through phone call? If a press statement can replace a living object, why am I still working in the first place? Who needs my job anyway, right? Seriously, at that moment, I was damn pissed already. I waited for a little while more and I found a chance to talk to Someone directly.

“I am Jason from some company, and I want to ask you 2 questions. What do you have to say about your new product?”

“Are you sure you don’t need to jot down?”

At this moment, the staff of Someone came, saw me talking to Someone and was a little taken aback. From that particular moment, she started to glare at me.

I didn’t give a damn. I knew I should have shown that finger.

“It doesn’t matter. I listen.”

Then, she had this who-the-hell-are-you-to-interview-me look on her face. She was sort of looking down on me, just because I am a newbie.

“I don’t think so. I have quite a lot to say about my new product actually.”

“Can you summarize them into few sentences?”

“……”

“Why don’t you call us for a phone interview tomorrow? Now, will you excuse us, Someone has to get ready.”

I was totally pissed and I stayed back for another 20 to 30 minutes to take her photos just because my buddy, Ah Kit wanted her photo. If not because of that, I would have go back right away.

I know you are getting popular nowadays, but do you have to act like you are even busier than Andy Lau, Emil Chau or our Prime Minister till you don’t even have time to answer 2 simple questions?

I swear I won’t be writing Someone’s story when Someone is here again for another round of promotion 3 weeks later.

No wonder there are people who dislike you.

- Part I ended. Now, back to the happy stuffs. -

Yu Heng 宇恆, a very popular local singer who made big in Taiwan recently was in our university to promote her latest album. I was there and managed to take some picture of her.

Convocations, But Not Mine

Note : The password protected entry is meant for 1 person only, so… And that’s the reason why I put up 2 new entries. -wink-

August 19th, the day for my Spirit Of Penang and also Ah Nee’s convocation.

“I have to go Penang, so I can’t attend your convo.”
“Never mind.”
“Hee…”
“But I still want a stalk of calla lilies (海芋) and a slice of Mille Crepe.”
“……”
“It doesn’t matter if you don’t come, but the present must reach to me.”
“Like shit only.”

Hence last Monday, I went to a nearby florist to order not 1 but 12 stalks of calla lilies, nicely wrapped. Then, after shooting my advertisement for my assignment, I dropped by Nadeje Patisserie and order 1kg of Mille Crepe.

After not seeing each other for the past 3 months, we met as I passed her the presents. I told her that I wanted to take pictures and she profusely declined. Damn shit, right? -frustrated- I left her house then, with a slightly spoilt mood and proceeded to meet up with my buddies for a late lunch in town.

Some of the pictures that she took with her camera phone. Click here for more pictures. -shrugs-

I still want a clearer, sharper and not self taken photos lah! Eeessshhh! -mumbles-

On the other hand, here are some of Ah Jie’s photos taken during her convocation few weeks back. You should have a look at her flowers, it looked more like a pot of flowers than a bouquet of flowers. It’s seriously huge.

Jason With Amber Chia, Jaclyn Victor And Daniel Lee

September 3rd, 2006, Jason

I reached Mahkota Parade about 6.30PM, 30 minutes late for the fashion show by Amber Chia and other models. By the time I reached the stage, it was her last catwalk / last dress. I didn’t have enough time to take enough pictures of Amber. I walked to the back stage and talked to Amber’s manager. After a little bit of introduction, he gladly asked me to wait for Amber outside.

I waited outside, looking cool and calm but in fact, I was very excited and nervous. It was my first time getting up close and personal with an international model. 10 minutes later, Amber walked out from the dressing room.

She is tall, as in, super tall (I know she’s a model lah! But still, she’s tall.) till I felt pressured standing next to her. How many girls are just slightly shorter than me? Not many, and Amber is one of the fews. Her fingers are freaking long as I noticed when I shook my hands with her. She stood very close in front of me, about 30cm between us. It made me quite uncomfortable. -sweat-

We had a 10 minutes long conversation in English and I personally feel that her English is not lousy at all, like what most people said. In fact, she answered my questions with lots of elaboration throughout the 10 minutes without much “errr…”, “ahhh…” or “emmm…”. She talked about her shopping spree in Mahkota Parade prior the fashion show, food that she was going to eat after the show, the weather, her fans in Malacca, the beautiness of Malacca town and also her wishes for Malaysia’s 49th birthday. Maybe her English used to be lousy, but not anymore. -wink-

The next day was performance by Malaysian Idols winner - Jaclyn Victor and Daniel Lee. Each of them sang 3 songs from their album, their most popular songs like “Gemilang” and “Mimpi”. The girls, members of the Daniel’s fan club aka pinkies, behind me went crazy each time Daniel do something. -sweat- Nothing much to write about Daniel, because… Somethings are better left unspoken. -blek-

Then it was Jac’s turn to perform. In my opinion, Jac was better with the crowds and heating up the atmosphere. She would talk, chit-chat and shake hands with the crowd below the stage and above the stage. She would sit on the floor, making herself comfortable, and sing. Fooling around by saying “Sawathikap” (Thank you in Thai language.) instead of “Thank You”. Her vocal is strong and has the “umpphhh”, a truly Malaysian Idol.

They later sang “Inside Your Heaven” together before the 30 minutes meet-the-fans session.

While I was talking to Daniel, Jac interrupted.

Jac : “Can I have a look at your camera’s picture?”
Jason : “Sure.” -hands over the FZ30-

-click click-

Jac : “OMG! I look so fat in this picture!”
Jason : “Don’t worry. I can photoshop the pictures for you.”
Jac : “……”
Daniel : “Hahaha!”
