Jason With Amber Chia, Jaclyn Victor And Daniel Lee
I reached Mahkota Parade about 6.30PM, 30 minutes late for the fashion show by Amber Chia and other models. By the time I reached the stage, it was her last catwalk / last dress. I didn’t have enough time to take enough pictures of Amber. I walked to the back stage and talked to Amber’s manager. After a little bit of introduction, he gladly asked me to wait for Amber outside.
I waited outside, looking cool and calm but in fact, I was very excited and nervous. It was my first time getting up close and personal with an international model. 10 minutes later, Amber walked out from the dressing room.
She is tall, as in, super tall (I know she’s a model lah! But still, she’s tall.) till I felt pressured standing next to her. How many girls are just slightly shorter than me? Not many, and Amber is one of the fews. Her fingers are freaking long as I noticed when I shook my hands with her. She stood very close in front of me, about 30cm between us. It made me quite uncomfortable. -sweat-
We had a 10 minutes long conversation in English and I personally feel that her English is not lousy at all, like what most people said. In fact, she answered my questions with lots of elaboration throughout the 10 minutes without much “errr…”, “ahhh…” or “emmm…”. She talked about her shopping spree in Mahkota Parade prior the fashion show, food that she was going to eat after the show, the weather, her fans in Malacca, the beautiness of Malacca town and also her wishes for Malaysia’s 49th birthday. Maybe her English used to be lousy, but not anymore. -wink-
The next day was performance by Malaysian Idols winner - Jaclyn Victor and Daniel Lee. Each of them sang 3 songs from their album, their most popular songs like “Gemilang” and “Mimpi”. The girls, members of the Daniel’s fan club aka pinkies, behind me went crazy each time Daniel do something. -sweat- Nothing much to write about Daniel, because… Somethings are better left unspoken. -blek-
Then it was Jac’s turn to perform. In my opinion, Jac was better with the crowds and heating up the atmosphere. She would talk, chit-chat and shake hands with the crowd below the stage and above the stage. She would sit on the floor, making herself comfortable, and sing. Fooling around by saying “Sawathikap” (Thank you in Thai language.) instead of “Thank You”. Her vocal is strong and has the “umpphhh”, a truly Malaysian Idol.
They later sang “Inside Your Heaven” together before the 30 minutes meet-the-fans session.
While I was talking to Daniel, Jac interrupted.
Jac : “Can I have a look at your camera’s picture?”
Jason : “Sure.” -hands over the FZ30--click click-
Jac : “OMG! I look so fat in this picture!”
Jason : “Don’t worry. I can photoshop the pictures for you.”
Jac : “……”
Daniel : “Hahaha!”
