Dead Spirits Of Melaka
How was “Spirit Of Melaka“?
First, thanks to Danny, Gabriel and Jeremy for the participation. Ha!

Well, I certainly had fun but it was tiring and suffering at the same time. The tiring and suffering part was the running part. Obviously, with my size, running is extremely not recommended. They had to select the first station at the top of St. Paul’s hill, which nearly killed me. Not even 20 minutes from the flag off, I was out of breath having heart attack already.

After that, it was better but I still couldn’t run except the occasionally jog. I couldn’t run much towards the end of the race as my legs were on the verge of cramping. But none the less, we managed to finish all the tasks. We went to Stadhuys, Jonker Street, Temple Street and etc, where most of the historical site are situated.

We had to…
1) Finish a bowl of chendol in less than 45 seconds. (I did it in less than 10, if not mistaken. The marshall was looking at me with his disbelieved look.)
2) Finish a glass of bitter herbal tea in less than 30 seconds. (Less than 10, nothing much.)
3) Finish a packet of dodol.
4) Play traditional game. A teamate sits on coconut tree and another pulls.
5) Juggle a sepak takraw ball in the air for 10 seconds. (Danny, you are the man!)
6) Make a 8*8 square field using strings.
7) Dance for 60 seconds.
8) Draw the “Spirit Of Melaka” logo on a wooden clog.
9) Count number of steps from point A to point B.
10) Solve a few questions. (With the help from friends (You know who you are.), my dad and Google. Thanks a lot, guys and girls!
Overall, it was fun but very tiring. I didn’t know I could do 27 ear squats at 1 go. By the time I came home, my whole body was aching like a 80 years old man. My afternoon nap didn’t help much as I was interrupted by a few phone calls, which I blasted it out when talking to Ah Nee. Ha!
When I first signed up for the race, I wasn’t expecting anything except just to experience something new. Told you, it was an EFNTD action. I had done it, and I suppose, this would be my first and last.
After the result was announced and we didn’t make it to the top 10 (like we could), we went to Mahkota Parade and had Burger King for lunch. While queueing up, someone came up to me.

“Are you Jason?”
“Yes.”
“Jason from JasonMumbles.com?”
“Yes. And you are?”
“Yen.”
“Nice to meet you. Do you have a blog?” -shakes hand-
“Yes.”
“Remember to leave a comment at my blog so that I can visit your blog.”
“Ok.”

Finally, someone recognizes me! Finally! -puts on kembang look-

Yen : Check out Kedai Antique 88, it used to be the best though.
Marshall : There were so many marshalls posted at the sepak takraw station. Well, some of the marshalls were pain in the ass, in which we managed to juggle for 9 seconds and the fella didn’t want to let us go through. Thanks to him, we wasted another 25 minutes there. Grrr…
