KL Trip #4

After more than 10 days of absence from my blog, blogsphere, MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger and emails, I am back. As I have mentioned previously, I was in KL for 5 days to meet up with friends that I got to know through blogging. This trip wasn’t as happening as the previous two trips and the mood didn’t really kick in. Food, sad to say, is more on the disappointing side. However, I enjoyed myself, especially the people whom I met.

Monday…

After dropping my sister at my grandmother’s place, I met up with Meng Zhee in Taman SEA; where we had a drink at an Indian stall which is famous for its nasi lemak. Chaos occured when MPPJ showed up and started to snatch unoccupied tables and chairs. The bad thing was I didn’t have my camera with me at that moment. The Indian stall workers were literally throwing their tables and chairs into their “allowed” area / shop. It was like DBKL came to Petaling Street all in a sudden to wipe out the pVCD / pDVD peddlers / stalls causing them to pack and run within seconds. It was something to see and experience. Meng Zhee looks different from the photos that I saw at his blog. He’s quite tall and fit too. Although we were a bit quiet, it’s nice meeting you in person. -wink-

After that, I drove to Kelana Jaya to meet up with Tien Soon. Its a bit funny to meet Tien Soon in KL. Why? It’s because Tien Soon is a Malaccan and also my MMU senior. Even though he works in KL, he goes back to Malacca every week. Yet I don’t understand why we have to meet up in KL when we can do so at Malacca every weekend? -lol- We went to SS2’s KTZ for something light since Murni was closed. Tien Soon, you should change the picture that you are using for your blogger profile, you look like a girl in that picture. -lol- We should meet again in Malacca, after Amos opens his new cafe in July, OK?

After that, I went to Sri Kembangan’s Feeling Cafe to meet up with the waitress, Dion and Tiu Nia Sing. Dion changed her hairstyle and right in front of her face, I said it looked funny and “weird”. She pouted immediately. -lol-

Tuesday…

I went to Sunway Pyramid to meet up with Cheng Sim. Since Cheng Sim was more eager to eat Japanese food, we went to Zen. I like the interior design a lot, very nice and cozy. The round cubicles are a plus too, if you want more privacy. As I said before, I don’t enjoy Japanese’s food as much as Chinese’s; but the food was quite good. At least, I finished it and didn’t feel like puking after that. We ordered the same beef set, but hers was the dry version while mine was the wet version. However, the soup had a strong smell of soy sauce.

After that, we went to Secret Recipe for some desserts. We had chocolate brownies with vanilla ice cream and blue berry cheese cake before we decided to leave the place. Because I have forgotten to jot down my parking area and number, I literally lost my car. Cheng Sim and I went to 3 different floors to look for my car and only came to realize that there were 2 levels on one of the floora. We only searched the upper level when my car was at the lower level. -lol- Thanks Cheng Sim, hope you enjoyed that little work out. -blek- She’s a chatty person and she still makes me go “Urrrggghhh…” on MSN and also during our meet up. She also said, “You are not a quiet person. Why did you say so?” My best guess is that she had met someone way quieter / shy than me. -shakes head- We forgot to take picture together too. If you want to read a superbly detailed of our meet up, click here.

Since it was raining cats and dogs when I was about to leave Sunway Pyramid for Kepong, I canceled my plan and went back to Kajang to have dinner with Chee Yong and Chun Kit. At first, we wanted to try to spicy soup “辣汤” and rice wine chicken “花雕酒鸡” at Serdang but the restaurant was closed. Then, we opted for steamboat buffet at Hoi Tong Restaurant, at RM20 each. We stuffed ourselves with prawns, mussels, oysters, crabs, fishes, vegetables, eggs, noodles, beef, mutton, pork, …… for 150 minutes non stop / until the shop closed at 12.30AM.

Wednesday…

I took a cab to Pusat Bandar Damansara to meet up with Emily at her college. Off we went to Strudels, a cafe that Emily wanted to try out for quite some time already. The food was quite disappointing, especially the pasta. The meatballs weren’t good at all and it certainly didn’t help brightening up my already woke-up-on-the-wrong-side-of-the-bed day. I was rather quiet compare to our first meet up at Mid Valley and Emily had to entertain herself by camwhoring with my digital camera. Girl, you need a lot more practices. -lol-

After that, I went to 1U to meet up with another Emily a.k.a Sook Ying. We went to Vietnamese Kitchen to have lunch / tea, which totally put the Malacca’s Vietnamese restaurant into shame. We ordered fried banana with prawn fritters, spring rolls, doughnut look aliked spring rolls, duck porridge and drinks. Two thumbs up for the fried banana with prawn fritters, spring rolls and my water chestnut drink.

After that, we even went to watch the movie “16 Blocks” together. 1U’s GSC’s seating is so comfortable that I can fall asleep inside. The space between my seat and the front is actually big enough to accomodate my long legs. They should consider demolishing Malacca’s GSC and rebuild them. By the way, it was my first time watching movie in 1U’s GSC. -shy-

Sook Ying saw the Chipsmore’s clown monster posing at the oval (center court) and wanted to take picture with it. We camwhored a little bit before we bid farewell. Sook Ying is studying in US and is back in Malaysia for her holidays. She was one of the reasons why I had to go KL before my trimester starts next week and before she goes back to US. She’s very cute and she looks much younger compare to her photos. Again, she’s cute. Ha!

After that, I went to Kepong to meet up with old friends, Loc Kee, Milly and Egghead. You can read about our meet up by clicking here. Since we didn’t have our dinner, we stopped at a Taiwanese cafe to have our dinner. I ordered beef noodles “红烧牛肉面” while Milly ordered Tom Yam. I ordered orange juice with egg “蛋蜜汁” as my drink, which was quite nice actually. As for the noodles, it was disappointing. -sighs-

Thursday…

Again, I was in 1U to meet up with Mikel a.k.a Louyau. We took quite some time to find each other since both of us weren’t familiar with 1U at all. We had lunch at Dragon-i restaurant, which I wanted to try out for some time already. Their specialties are ramen “拉面” and small pau “小笼包”. We ordered a bowl of beef noodles, minced meat noodles “炸酱面”, small pau “小笼包”, dumplings “水饺” and jelly with longan. Perhaps I had set my expectations a little too high, the food was on the fence. However, either the skin was too thin or my skill with chopsticks sucks, I couldn’t hold the small pau so that I could suck out the soup inside the pau. The skin would tear the moment I tried to lift the pau from the tray. -sobs- The meal cost Mikel RM60, not too bad actually; not sure for Mikel though. -blek- We then went to watch movie before we bid farewell. We used to talk quite a lot on MSN before Mikel came back to Malaysia, but both of us were less chatty when we met up. However, I am happy that I get to meet him in person, at least, we will get to know each other better from now on. He offered me to stay at his place the next time I come to KL, since the distance from Kajang to KL is not near at all.

Well, that’s how I spent my 5 days in KL. Too bad Boss Stewie has to postpone his trip to KL to next week, or else, we could have meet up and it would be even better. As usual, thanks to everyone who took the effort and time to come out to meet me, and I hope I didn’t bore you to death during our meet up. Thanks to those who helped me when I need direction or help. I’m sorry as well, if I didn’t get to meet you as promised earlier.

Now, I need to get back to my work and studies. I have 1 more week of holidays left. -sighs-

Vien : I found the culprit behind the pop ups. It should be fine now. There are alot of restaurant popping up, by the point is whether their food are good or not.

Food Lover : Haha… Ok. Next time we will meet up during lunch hour at KLCC, ok? :P Haiyah, nothing to jealous ler. Most of the food are quite disappointing, you know.

Cheng Sim : I have rectify the pop up problem. Go eat shit lah you, a picture just you and me also will kill you like that. Duh! Nice meeting you too.

Consuela : Haha… I ate those in the span of 4 days ler. :P Hehe… I live to eat mah!

Boss Stewie : Too bad we couldn’t meet up.

Pianonee : I think they are using the same meat feeling as Esquire Kitchen, you know. :P Haha… Well, its worth a try when you don’t know what to eat, but not highly recommended.

Sook Ying : Huh? What? What? What? :pbpbpb

Earl-Ku : Yeah, the waiter/waitress were kinda smile-less and slow in service. Some of them were seen sleeping on the table lagi. And yeah, they smell like toilet fragrance too.

Bryan : End of June? I will see what I can do. Haha! Sure can meet up one.

MengZ : LOL. Not as much as my previoust two trips ler. :P

hey, if you want to get to taste the best smalll pao in malaysia, you should go to the shanghai restaurant in JW marriot hotel. the skin of the pao is almost translucent! when you want to grab the small po, use your shopstick to grab the tip of the pao- the ‘tit’ of the pao, then use a soupspoon to hold it when you want to eat it, that’s the correct way to eat small pao:)

Dannyboy : Is it? But I can’t afford to have meal at JW Marriot Hotel yet ler. Haha! But thanks for the suggestion. Ah, I know that, but somehow the skin is glued to the cabbage, making it a little bit difficult to take out the pau. Sighs…
