The New Generation Banana Fritters
How creative and different can “Banana Fritters” be?

No idea?
I too had no idea until one night when my friends and I went to this small cafe in Tampin to “yamcha”, my friend asked me to try their “Banana Fritters”. I was surprised as it was totally different from the normal banana fritters that you can get at the roadside stalls.

What makes their “Banana Fritters” so special?
1) The banana is sliced into half and red bean paste (豆沙) is spread on it.
2) The banana is wrapped with spring roll’s skin, not the usual flour and egg batter.
The fritters are very crunchy because of the spring roll’s skin. It is not so oily compared to the normal banana fritters. The red bean paste gives the fritters a refreshing taste and flavour. They use not-too-ripe bananas, which has a little bit of bitterness in it; together with the red bean paste, it blends together just nice.

At the price of RM1.20 for one, it is definitely worth a try. Now that the recipe is out, perhaps you can try it by making yourself; substituting the red bean paste with strawberry jam, chocolate cream or peanut butter.
Oh, did I mention their pork/chicken chop is only RM5?
