Questionnaire

February 25th, 2006, Ah Nee

Today’s update is not by Jason, but Ah Nee. -grins-

I am currently completing my final year project / thesis as a journaslim student in UTAR and I need to do a survery in order to gather the data and informations that I need. Due to my project requirements, I need to have individual data sheets instead of a summarized / analyzed data sheet. Therefore, I hope you can give me a helping hand by downloading and completing the questionnaire for me.

1) The questionnaire is objective liked and only has 16 questions.

2) It will take you less than 10 minutes.

3) Since you can’t tick it, you can bold the answers instead.

4) You can download the questionnaire from here.

5) Upon completing, you can email the file to Jason at jason[.]lioh[@]gmail[.]com or me at yk[_]ahnee[@]yahoo[.]com.

Please, help me…!

Again, you can download the file from here.

Thank you in advance and I appreciate your help.

Updated on 26th of February : yk[_]ahnee[@]yahoo[.]com was deactivated by Yahoo! because of few months of inactivity. I have activated it back and you can start sending the answers to me with that email address.

Yes, it is 23rd of February again and today is my birthday.

As expected, none of my close friends are in Malacca to celebrate with me. Sad to say, but that doesn’t really matter because I didn’t celebrate my 20th and 21st birthday with them also. However, I am celebrating my 22nd birthday with Beyonce! Really! I am watching “The Pink Panther“, co-starred by Beyonce Knowles tonight at 8.05PM. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! -coughs-

At the age of 22, I have yet to accomplish anything big but am glad that for the past 1 year, I never “really” wasted my time. I found myself a source of side income; with my own money, I bought myself a set of wireless keyboard and mouse (RM375), a set of 2.1 speakers (RM159), a 40GB hard disk (RM180), traveled with my buddies (RM400), bought my own hosting and domain (RM110), saved my academic result from total disaster twice and some others tiny, not worth mentioning stuffs.

Well, that basically summarizes my 21st year in this world.

Now, I have a brand new wish list that contains a Panasonic Lumix DMC - FX9, a Logitech MX610 Laser Cordless Mouse and another road trip with my buddies. Within this 1 year I hope to get / earn / buy them with my own blood, sweat and effort. It might take longer than a year, but it will be my motivation then.

Thank you to my dad and especially, my mum for giving birth to me on this day after enduring 9 months of pregnancy and hours of pains before I took my first breath.

Before I forget, today is also another SYT, Stephanie MeiYu’s birthday. Same year, same month, same date but hopefully, not the same time. Drop by her blog - “Herbal Tree” and send her your wishes too, just incase she gets jealous because I have more birthday wishes than her, like last year.

Wow!!! You’ve got more birthday posts than me!!! I AM JEALOUS!!!

Happy birthday to myself.

My 2006 Wish List

February 21st, 2006, Jason

My birthday is coming soon, really soon and I mean really, absolutely, definitely, extremely soon. -coughs- Therefore, this is the best time to dish out my wish list a.k.a to-work-for-it wish list.

Topping the list is my last year and this year’s birthday present - Nokia N70.

Actually, I have enough money to buy this gadget already, but am still contemplating between the original phone (Warranty is by Nokia - Zitron manufacture itself.) and the non-original phone (Warranty is by the phone manufacture.). Although both work exactly the same, the warranty issue is very important, you never know what might happen to the phone. (Touchwood!) The price difference is about RM500, so that’s quite a lot of money.

Price : RM1700 for non-original and RM2200 for original.
Verdict : Coming soon… Latest will be before June.

Next is the Panasonic Lumix DMC – FX9 digital camera.

My hand-me-down Sony Cybershot U20 isn’t capable of shooting good pictures ANYMORE and it makes things even worse when my skill is totally n00bs. With good reviews from the net and users like Olivia and Narrowband, there shouldn’t be any mistakes in getting this camera. However, if my dad is going to buy a new digital camera, most likely I will get his hand-me-down-again Canon Ixus while he gets the Casio eX-Slim.

Price : RM1600 with a 1GB memory card.
Verdict : Definitely will be carry forward-ed to my 2007 wish list. –lol-

The next one will be Logitech MX610 Laser Cordless Mouse.

With my current fugly mouse, after almost 1 year of usage, it is time to get a better, powerful and more stylish mouse. Not only this baby has more programmable buttons, it has an on-off button and 2 LEDs that will blink under special event. It uses laser beam instead of optical LED, therefore, giving higher accuracy, precision and resolution.

Now, you must be asking, “Why can’t you use those normal RM10 to RM30 mouse?” Well, it is very difficult to explain the experience of using a truly ergonomic, comfortable and powerful mouse. For example, a mouse with/without a scroll wheel; I am sure you can somehow relate to it.

Price : Somewhere between RM150 to RM200.
Verdict : I told Ah Nee I wanted this for my present but she said she would buy something that she likes instead. –sweat- I thought it was for me?! Me! Me! Me!

Next one will be a holiday / road trip with my buddies – Chee Yong and Chun Kit.

It was 9 months ago since our trip to Cameron Highlands and Penang. We planned to go East Coast during early November but the trip was called off because 3 of us couldn’t find the right time for our trip.

Price : Around 400 per person, inclusive of everything (包山包海) for 3 days 2 nights.
Verdict : Hopefully this coming trimester break, around mid May or early June.

Well, that basically sums up my wish list for 2006. There’s another one though, a girl friend new Dell Dimension 9100 desktop PC. But then, that is way out of my ability to save or work for it. I will leave that to my dad and bug him to buy one for me when Windows Vista is released. -coughs-

Man, I am so easily satisfied. -blek-

The Keyboard Or The Mouse?

February 20th, 2006, Jason

I was preparing to blog about “My Wish List” when this question came up - “Which is more important? A keyboard or a mouse?” Since it is such a debatable topic, might as well I write about it, right? So, here goes…

If one has to take away your keyboard or your mouse, which would you choose?

There are ONLY TWO answers - keyboard or mouse! Not other answers like “Both.”, “Take it and you will die.”, “I can borrow keyboard/mouse from another person.”, “I can go cybercafe”, “You can’t login to Windows without a keyboard” and many other answers.

It is either this, a 108 keys keyboard…

Or this, a 3-buttons mouse…

Taking your mouse :

1) You have to remember ALL the shortcuts.
2) You have to tab INFINITE TIMES just to get to a link, causing your surfing web experience to be pain in the ass.
3) DON’T even think of using programs like Photoshop, AutoCAD or any mouse intensive program.

Taking your keyboard away :

1) You DON’T have to remember ANY shortcuts.
2) You can surf the net NORMALLY.
3) You CAN still type with internal keyboard programs in your Microsoft Word, Chinese Star and even keyboard mapping in your “Accessories” folder; but typing would be extremely pain in the ass.

So, which would you choose? The keyboard or the mouse? And why?

RM300 “Bak Gua”

February 15th, 2006, Jason

My Chinese New Year was quite OK until the 8th day…

It was 2.30AM when I was driving back to Malacca after formatting Ah Nee’s computer. There were not much cars throughout the journey and I reached Bukit Beruang area in 23 minutes. (Tampin to Bukit Beruang is about 38km.) Another 2 minutes and I would reach home…

It was a straight and long road and I was driving at about 100km/h. From far, I saw a dark coloured jeep driving cruising (About 40km/h, I think.) quite slowly in front of me and seeing no cars were coming from the opposite direction, I overtook the jeep.

The moment I moved back into my lane, the jeep on its light (the spinning blue coloured light) and flashed me with highlight.

I was stunned! Why?

I fucking overtook a JPJ jeep!

I stopped by the roadside and I stepped out of my car. I handed my license to the officer and he took out his notepad. It was not any ordinary notepad; it’s the compound notepad.

“Kamu tahu kamu salah apa?” (“You know what is your mistake?”)
“Tak tahu.” (“Nope.”)

“Memotong di dua garisan berkembar.” (“Overtaking at double line.”)
“Maksimum berapa?” (“What is the maximum value for the compound?”)

“RM300.” (“RM300.”)
Chee bye. OK.” (“Chee bye. OK.”)

Image hosting by Photobucket

I went to pay the compound last Tuesday, and certainly, there was no discount at all because of the festive season. It is called “Ops Sikap Tahun Baru Cina”, therefore, no appeal, no discount, no bribes and nothing can be done to reduce the fine.

There goes my RM300…

Just when I wanted to get my own birthday present, this piece of paper came to me. Not only I can’t get my birthday present, I am short of RM600 now. I wouldn’t be that pissed if this come after I bought my birthday present, but not before!

When can only I get my last year’s and this year’s birthday present?

FUCK!

P/S :

For those who wants to buy 4D, Toto or Magnum…

Earl Ku : Why didn’t ask the officer to take a picture of you taking the “saman”?
