RM1 “Nasi Lemak”

Sometimes, the best food doesn’t come from high-class restaurant or hotel chefs, but merely a roadside stall. I couldn’t agree more.

It was 4 o’clock in the evening and I was on my way back after my class. I was freaking hungry (I am hungry all the time. Heh!) and I stopped by this roadside stall that sells “kuih-muih”. Looking at the varieties of snacks available, the packets of “nasi lemak” caught my interest. At the price of RM1 per packet, it is very cheap indeed. I bought 2 packets.

Surprisingly, it is freaking delicious.

Rice cooked with nothing but pure and thick coconut milk, very fragrant indeed. It is a little sticky as well, which authentic “nasi lemak” should has. It comes with 1/8 of an egg, 2 slices of cucumbers and a small packet of “sambal belacan” with “ikan bilis”. It is a little salty due to the amount of “belacan” in it.

It is another simple yet satisfying snack for my tea. In fact, I have been eating it for the past 4 days for tea. Now, will you excuse me while I go and buy 2 packets for my 4 o’clock snack.

haha! 1/8 of an egg, 1 day it’s gonna be 1/16 of an egg!
Keep the daun pisang in the kitchen, definitely a good spot for maggot cultivation! lol!

actually 2 packets at one go is a little too much.
as u’ve mentioned, the rice is cooked with fresh coconut milk (or santan), it is “lemak”y (or fatty in other words).
excessive Fats will be stored in the adipose tissues, adipose tissues may increase both sizes and numbers.

perhaps u could cut down to one the next time u have the crave for nasi lemak during tea?
    *grins*

now i really am mumbling, no?

Kampungkai : 1/16? I did like to see how the makcik cut the egg into 1/16. LOL.

Walao : Who are you actually? Hehe. Go get something to eat?

Snowybabie : Err… It is near my house and university.

Juliana : GRRRRRR… You are right, but then my principle is “Eat first, die later.” LOL. So, you can’t do anything. :D

Shinky : Yeah, I tried that too. Not bad actually.

Lee C.S. : Hoho. Somebody cannot eat “AUTHENTIC” nasi lemak in Bei Jing! :P 叫老婆煮给你.

my dear jason, if someone thinks of eating first and die later, often in the end, it would be too late to solve the problems that arises =means he/she’s gonna be dead already.

Hehe. Very delicious indeed. City? LOL. If you can see a road side stall, you are very lucky already. Don’t ask for goreng pisang at 5 for RM1, curry puffs at 3 for RM1 etc…
