Did My Effort Pay Off?

I came back to Malacca last week for a few reasons :

- To avoid the boringness in Tampin. (Done!)
- To work on my template. (Done!)
- To launch my site when November kicks in. (Done!)
- To avoid more nagging from my parents. (Done!)
- To check my result. (Done!)
- To study for my supplementary paper. (Processing!)

Right after I finished my exam, I was expecting a 3P1F result, which means 3 passes and 1 fail. I knew I would fail my EMG 2016 – Electromagnetic Theory because I could not answer 2 out of the 4 questions, which was the minimum requirement to pass. Besides, I did not study enough for that subject and literally gave up the subject 3 weeks before the final examination. (My parents are going to use this sentence to “shoot” me, I am very sure.)

My result was released on the same day I launched my new site. Bummer! I logged in to my student information center and to my horror, my result was 2P2F! Something unexpected! I failed my BHM3076 – Basic Law and of course, EMG 2016 – Electromagnetic Theory. I refreshed the page a few times so that I would not see wrongly but the result remained the same. –sighs-

I took out my phone and called my dad. As expected, my dad was grumbling about it and repeating the things that he has said to me when we were arguing about the same issue months back. I was slightly disappointed somehow when my dad was lecturing me over the phone. “What matters is the end result.”

I knew I made lots of improvement in my result, as my 2 other subjects scored a 9.45 / 12 points, which I think it is a “B” or “B+”. All these while, I am glad enough that I can pass my papers. However, it was slightly different this trimester. My effort of studying in the library and from the beginning of the trimester had paid off. I was happy with that but too bad, my dad did not feel the same way I did.

Perhaps, I did not manage the time for each subject well enough. I concentrated more on my programming subject (ECP2036 – Microprocessor And System Interfacing) and circuit subject (ECT1016 – Circuit Theory) and neglected the other 2 subjects. Another reason was I extremely hated EMG2016 - Electromagnetic Theory because it is a subject on something that you cannot see, cannot touch and cannot feel. It is all about vectors (I am weak in this vector calculation.) and some god-know-what-is-it theory. Damn! I hate that subject! Egghead said it was the most useless subject taught in the course and irrelevant to work.

There goes my remaining 1 week plus of holidays. I have to start studying for my supplementary papers especially my BHM3076 – Basic Law. I must pass this subject and my study loan will be resumed, thus, easing my parent’s burden. Although I failed 2 subjects, I actually feel good because my effort did pay off and I got “B”s for my papers, instead of “C”s. -shakes head- I am not implying that I am happy with my result though, especially the unexpected fail.

Now, I have to face my mother’s wrath when I go back Tampin tomorrow. –sighs-

that the thing you get for spamming me :P
well… study is just study… just to get a stupid piece of scroll in the end of the day!
clever in study don’t mean that you are good in working though… but that stupid piece of scroll is a proof that you managed to go through some rubbish and boring lectures without dying in the process… nothing more… that’s what I learnt in uni… LOL!

hang in there man! it’ll be over in a couple of years… well… maybe more for you if you continue to fail :P

So, when I was in my 4th year doing my postgrade, I heard a lot of rubbish stating that what you study is not important and you just study for the sake of it. That is something very wrong I would say, now that I am working I uses every single piece that I learn from school. There are times that we don’t do well in life, and we don’t understand why is it so, but do ask yourself again, how much attention and effort you put in to your study? As I was doing my thesis, I sleep 4 hours per day, and when ppl saw the result, they forgotten about the price that I had paid.

It is the years when we are in school that make us different from others, if we continue to enjoy now, we will never achieve anything in the future. Though my comment sound pessimistic, I just wish to be truthful. It’s always easy to say this: “stay cool man, you are doing fine.” But won’t it be a lie to you then.

Wei ! Study hard ok ?

People says, we study for 3 or 4 years for a Degree.
And the rest of the life (about 50 to 60 years ) would be
all spent on working, working very cham one you know?

So study hard, get over it and get the Degree !!!

Sometimes we don’t have the choice to like or dislike a
subject, we have to “gulp” and study hard and swallow
it. Gulp gulp gulp gulp …gulp, before you realise it’s
    already over :)

Egghead : Sighs… Why our education system is exam orientated har?

Narrowband : My results look like shit to you hor and you must be wondering why am I taking circuit theory, right?

    Angeline : Thanks!

Nebo : Tom Yam Kung also not that Yam Kung. -shrugs-

Maria : KPC about you blogging at nite and studying are 2 different things ler. :P

Mama Bok : I will and thanks!

Mr. Kiasu : If what I learn today will be useful to my future, I am dead as well as you can see, what I learnt all are screwed up stuff. I got mostly “C” you know. But, hopefully, I can do better. Thanks for the advice.

Ice Queen : I also thought that way, but when the papers came out, it was different. Not blind memorizing. :(

FunkayMunkay : Don’t know got time or not.

Sleeker : Yeap, Malacca it is.

Jase Lee : Thanks. Life? Look at my result you know lah~!

Romantic : I didn’t study this because my parents forced me to. Its a mistake of my own that make me ended up in engineering courses. Anyway, maybe my effort is just not enough.

Lee CS : It’s working. I checked already, many many times. Haha! Hopefully loh~!

Shiau Lin : Don’t want to change already. I’m satisfy with this. Don’t curse me har! No more renovation also.

Kampungkai : Thanks for the bucket of water! :D Ya, will work harder.

Kai Hong : If only studying taste like the Bah Kut Teh we ate… I would have been a 4 flatter.

Maria : Got study ler. Less blogging. :P
