Welcome To My New “House”

October 30th, 2005, Jason

This will be my first post in this new “house” and I welcome you.

My template is not fully complete yet as I still need to do something about the background’s wording and the yellow colour seperator bar (I have remove it temporarily.). Apparently, the wording creates confusion and the yellow colour does not suit the overall colour combination. I am still working on another template, partially designed by Auntie Maria. But, due to some technical issues, I need to put the template on hold first.

NeeNee who came up with the overall design and concept, including the header, background and etc.

Auntie Maria who helped me with the template codes and colour combination.

Auntie Shiau Lin who helped me with the colour combination. Orange colour was her idea, not mine.

Earl Ku who created a sub domain site for me so that I could work on my template before I bought my own web hosting packages.

Tien Soon who helped me with the technical issues such as recreating the background so that it loads faster and smaller in terms of file size.

Hive Hosting whom I bought my Mini Hive package from and subsequently hosting my site.

All the people who gave me feedbacks and opinions.

Thanks a lot for helping me to create my new “home”.

However, there is a catch. My blog looks perfectly fine in Mozilla Firefox but not in Internet Explorer. Even the original template does not looks perfect in IE. Therefore, I am still working on it and if possible, make the switch today and start using Firefox. My blog is best viewed in 1024*768 screen resolution as well.

I wanted to categorize my posts, but it seems that I have too many categories and most of my posts will fit into at least 2 or 3 categories. Therefore, I decided to scrap the idea of categorizing my posts. You can go through my blog by monthly archives though, which is similar to Blog*Spot.

Remember to update your bookmarks! For those who use FeedReader or any other feed reader program, here are my RSS Feeds - Atom, RSS .92 and RSS 2.0.

My blog’s birthday party cum house warming party will be held on 9th of November, do attend by visiting my blog, OK? There will be a cake for everyone, I promise. -grins-

Jason’s Hair For Peter’s “Hair For Hospice”

October 28th, 2005, Jason

After reading Peter Tan’s Hair For Hospice Campaign from his blog, from Jason Tee’s blog, from newspapers like Sin Chiew Jit Poh and The Star, I immediately knew I could do something about it and for it.

Therefore, I have decided to join Peter Tan, Jason Tee, Sapiens Bryan, Sharizal Shaarani and Devyne (A female blogger. Surprise?) and shave my head for charity. I have theoretically shaved my hair for fun exactly 4 months ago. I looked very ugly but since I used to cut the same hairstyle since standard 1, it did not bother me. Shave? It will be my first time. Will it be even uglier? Yes, it will. -chuckles-

The donation drive will end as soon as we shave our head but I am very sure, you still can continue donate to Hospice and they will gladly appreciate it. Hopefully, with my last minute participation, slightly more people will donate and of course, the more the better! The “more” is as in the amount of people donating and the donation.

This is my first time doing charity through my blog, hopefully my blog readers will support me one way or other. My peers, although 90% of the donations are in RM50 above, RM10 is welcome too!

To read more about the donation drive, please visit Peter Tan’s blog – “Hair For Hospice“.

To donate, please read the instruction by clicking here.

Please donate! Thank you!

P/S : Tax exemption receipts will be issued for all donations of RM50 and above. (Actually, what does this mean?)

To Meet Or Not To Meet?

October 27th, 2005, Jason

I have been blogging for 352 days (as 27th of October) and another 13 days will mark my 1-year appearance in blogsphere. It has come to a point where blogging is just not about blogging anymore. It is something more than expressing myself through words and jotting down the ups and downs of my life. It is about reading blogs, sharing experience, giving feedbacks / comments and of course, meeting up with bloggers.

I have met quite a number of bloggers and each meet up session gave me surprises and experience. The bloggers that I have met come from various places (Although most of them are from K.L..), each with different personalities, jobs and social status. Like every human being and their thumbprints, everyone is different and unique in their own way.

However, the main point is why do I want to meet these bloggers. Personally, I wanted to meet these bloggers mainly because of curiosity and the thought of extending a cyber friendship to a real friendship. There are many bloggers who blog behind an identity or anonymously. Therefore, the curiosity is always there like how they look like and do their blog assembles what they are. Besides, nearly 90% of the bloggers I have met, I have been reading their blogs since their first post and somehow, I feel attached or concern about the bloggers, as in real life. I actually care and concern about their on goings.

Before I meet up with any bloggers, I will try my best to read all or at least, a few months of his / her archives so that I will get a better idea and understanding of the person whom I am about to meet. I do not just meet up any blogger whom I do not read their blogs or just for the sake of meeting up. At least, this is the most basic thing I can do to respect the person whom you are going to meet and know what topic to chat when we meet up.

Usually, I will try to arrange the time, date and venue of the appointment to be as convenient as possible for the person whom I am going to meet. Unless, the gathering involves more than 4 bloggers, then we will meet up at a specific time, date and venue. There are pros and cons for small gathering (1 to 4 person.) and big gathering (4 or more persons.) though. When we meet up, we talk about food, places, current event, issues happening in blogsphere, work, study, jokes, craps, more craps and even more craps.

Although the invitation is being sent out, that does not mean you / I have to accept the invitation and attend the gathering / meet up. There are bloggers who want to remain anonymous forever, like Mumsgather. She said she will not meet any bloggers and Auntie Maria is the only blogger she met before she started blogging. Therefore, it is not necessary for you / me to accept your invitation to meet up. There are a few more tips / rules when meeting up with a blogger too. You can read it here.

Actually, meeting up with a blogger is not that complicated or scary as people think. However, that does not mean your own safety should be ignored, especially for females bloggers. At least, Auntie Maria told me before that she met a blogger who was totally different from his / her blog. Well, you know the rules and I do not think I need to repeat it here, right? As for me, I doubt anyone will harm me after they see me in real life. –blek-

This was a draft post that I written during my stay in K.L.. Therefore, I want to post it up before I continue with my endless mumbling story.

I Am Sick… Really!

October 24th, 2005, Jason

Since I (Egghead) was entrusted with this “huge and rare” responsibility, I might as well make some fun the best out of it.

Jason is sick! He is so obsessed with pretty ladies and he can’t stop stalking them, even they are a few hundred kilometers away. He is also very much into SM and other weird and kinky stuff! Due to all his weird “hobbies”, he is diagnosed with multiple sexually transmitted disease (narrowly escaping HIV & AIDS) and won’t be able to blog until he is discharged from Tanjung Rambutan.

My friend, Jason here is suffering from acute “stomach overload” disorder some serious sickness (which he preferred not to tell) and won’t be able to blog until he recovers and back to Malacca. Which I don’t know when, probably before 30th October.

Twinsmom (with her almighty graphic designer skills and creative mind) did a impressive illustration on how Jason managed to get sick after his “little vacation” in KL. So I guess you should not have any pity on him, right? Especially those who “had to” spend a fortune to belanja him food throughout his stay. :P

I guess he asked me to blog this so that all his readers will send him some porns some flowers, get-well cards, some food or something to wish him well. Meanwhile, all his readers should visit Egghead’s blog and Twinmom’s blog while our friend slooooooooowly recovers. So this is kinda a BRB post.

P/S: This attempt is fully authorized by the owner of this blog. Anyone who wants to file a law suit should direct it to the one who is taking his own sweet time to mumble away while he recovers from his diseases.

K.L. Trip #2 - Day 5, 6 and 7

October 20th, 2005, Jason

Juliana (My 2nd featured blog.), Carol (My 1st featured blog.) and me went out for dinner at Gasoline, Cheras. Both of them are good friends and they have not met each other for quite some time. The outing eventually became their bitching session and I was listening to them most of the time. I noticed one thing - I will converse in English with Juliana but Chinese with Carol. –rolls eyes-

Gasoline is a new cafe, and has a basic theme of anime characters. There are two branches currently; one in Cheras while the other is at Sri Kembangan. The Sri Kembangan’s branch is just opposite Feeling Cafe only. You can go upstairs where you get to sit on the floor with a small private section of your own too. There are a lot of anime posters on the walls, tables, staircase and even inside the toilet. Currently, they are having Halloween theme. Therefore, you can see lots of Halloween related decorations like the pumpkins light.

I ordered carrot and orange mix fruit juice while they ordered strawberry shake and mango shake for themselves. My beverage tasted quite plain though. We ordered onion rings, prawn salad, beefsteak, French toast and lemonade chicken rice for dinner. The food is rather delicious and cheap. I like the prawn salad and coleslaw very much. They should do something about the steak though; they kind of over cooked it I think. Each of us spent about Rm15 to RM18, which I consider cheap and reasonable.

As for my 5th day, I stayed home and did not go anywhere because Jinlan (My 5th featured blog.) was not free to meet me in SS2 that night. –sobs sobs-

I wanted to go back Tampin after staying here for 5 days. Not only I was running low on cash, I was running out of people to meet too! –lol- Somehow, I was very reluctant to go back and I extended my holiday. Since Tash and Chloe (My 3rd featured blog.) changed their mind and decided not to meet me, I went out for lunch with Uncle Loc at Ah Lek Kopitiam, SS2.

I think it is a new cafe as every thing looks so new. The boss was there and he served and recommended a few dishes to us. Atmosphere is good and is quite a good place if you want to sit down and chill out. Good thing is that they serve their dishes hot, or rather right from the microwave. The food that we ordered tasted great and I like their chicken curry as well. Try it if you want to eat something in this shop.

Since I had nothing to do, I decided to pay Auntie Maria a visit. I called to inform her and made my way to her house. Somehow the map she sent to me was different from what I saw and I was driving along Jalan —— for a few times. At one point, I even came back to the same junction. I spent nearly 45 minutes looking for the correct junction to turn into, which is really difficult to notice. The junction is a small junction and the trees covered half of the non-working traffic light, which is the landmark / sign I should look out for. (You can read part of the details at her blog in this post.)

“Ooo… This is Twinsmom’s house.” I said when I found the house.

When I stepped into the house, the Belles were lazy-ing in the living room. They were kind of cold towards me at first, but they talked to me after that. Auntie Maria was preparing dinner so we talked gossiped in the kitchen.

“Ma-mi, I want ‘roll-roll’”, said Isabelle, hinting she wanted to play playdough. I went to open the cans of playdough for Isabelle and we played together for a while. Isabelle showed me elephant, ball and something that I still do not know what was it. Now I know how busy Auntie Maria is when the twins are awake. Not to mention, the mess that the Belles make. –lol-

I was in the kitchen when she deep fried the pork. It was a funny sight to see. First, she wrapped a cloth around her hand so that the oil would not splash on her. Then, standing 1 meter away from the wok, she quickly and timidly put the pork into the boiling oil and stood back. Too bad, I did not snap a picture of Auntie Maria in action.

Auntie Maria cooked my dinner so I had my pre-dinner there. As she fed the Belles, Isabelle danced in front of the television. So cute! I got to see it live this time. –grins- One portion of meat, egg and vegetables each were on the menu. Although she blogged about her failed experiments / dishes before, the dinner was…

After that, she showed me a few photo albums of the Belles and her wedding. There was a lot of “Ooo…”, “Wah…” and “Haha!” as I flipped through the album. The rest, I better keep my mouth shut. No comment. Go visit Auntie Maria if you want to know. Auntie Earthtone, I saw you! –evil grins-

The Belles are more talkative at home. They are not as cool looking when I met them during the first and second time. After thanking Auntie Maria for the dinner and got a hug from the Belles each, I left the place and went to meet up with Chee Yong at Feeling Cafe before I called it a day.

With this post, my 1 week holiday in K.L. has officially ended and I definitely have enjoyed myself. A million thanks to everyone who have hosted, guided, helped, treated, fetched and etc. me throughout my holiday.

P/S :

Thanks to Uncle Loc for the lunch. He gave me 3 treats throughout my stay in K.L..

Thanks to Auntie Maria for the wonderful dinner. Yes, you do not have to take out the rat poision that you want to use on me. -blek-

For some reasons, I have this habit or style (subconciously) that shows my satisfaction for my meal. If the food is good, I will arrange my fork and spoon nicely on the plate. Else, the fork and spoon will cross each other; not to mention the leftovers on the plate too. -wink-
