Lasagna, Anyone?

August 24th, 2005, Jason

I just do not have the feel / mood to write Part II of my “In Reality, Jason Is…” series. (Click here for Part I.) Thanks to the house fius that tripped for no reason the other day. Besides, I am sort of having blogger’s block nowadays, which explains the slow update recently. Although Auntie Suzette has suggested some “wicked” topics to blog, I still do not have a good topic to blog about.

I have been to Secret Recipe a few times only, to be exact, less than 5 times. The first time I went to Secret Recipe was to celebrate NeeNee’s 21st birthday early this January. I think that was my first time visiting Secret Recipe, or was it my second time. –ponders- Anyway, whenever I am in such restaurant / café, if their menu has “Lasagna”, most likely I will give it a try.

Lasagna is both a form of pasta in sheets and also a dish made with alternate layers of pasta, cheese, and minced meet. In other words, Lasagna consists of pasta, cheese, minced meet, pasta, cheese, minced meet, pasta, cheese, minced meet, pasta… (Duh!) Some lasagna is served with breads, like the one in Secret Recipe, while some serve lasagna only. Basically, 2 types of cheeses are used in lasagna. They are “Ricotta” and “Parmesan” cheese.

After trying different places of Lasagna, Secret Recipe’s can be considered as one of the few good ones. There is another one, which is the best I have tasted, but I have forgotten the franchise name. I ate it when I was Form 4, when I was on my trip to Klang to meet 2 BratS friends of mine. If you are wondering what is BratS, BratS is a journalism program for teenagers aged between 15 and 18, conducted by The Star newspaper. BratS stands for Bright Roving Annoying TeenS. (I am one of them.)

Most café / restaurant offers 2 choices – beef or chicken lasagna in their menu. If you do eat beef, do go for it instead of chicken. Beef goes well with the cheese and pasta, not to mention that the texture of the minced beef provides a better taste and feeling as you chew it. This makes me wonder when will I get to see pork lasagna; it might tastes good, I guess. After all, pork has a little sweetness in it. For your information, lasagna is one of Garfield’s favourite foods. Do correct me if I am wrong.

If you happen to have your tea or meal in Secret Recipe, you can try this too, other than their delicious cakes.

P/S :

I have been a little bit busy with my assignments (1 is due on the 25th of August and 2 on the 12th of September.) and something else, which I will disclose in near future. (For those who know, ssshhh… –grins-)

I had this for dinner when I went out with Yinn 1.5 months ago.

Break My Record Competition

August 22nd, 2005, Jason

I wanted to blog something about myself today, which is Part II of my “In Reality, Jason Is…” post. However, when I was about to complete, the house fius tripped and all my work was gone. So, I might need time to rewrite everything again. Therefore, I will be updating with a short post while I prepare for my last mid term examination, which is BHM 3076 Basic Law.

I was playing a soccer game introduced by Loc Kee a few days ago in this post. The game is named “Park Soccer” and can be downloaded at this site. The objective of the game is to keep the ball in the air as long as possible by clicking on the ball with your mouse. 5 points of bonus will be given if you managed to collect the coins.

Now, here is the catch. If you managed to break my record and post a picture of your score (in your blog or a link to the picture in my comment) by using the “Print Screen” key, I will buy you a piece of cake of your choice from Secret Recipe or 2 scoopes of Haagen-Dazs ice cream.

Good luck!

P/S :

Competition has ended. It seems that nobody managed to break my record. -sighs-

I have stopped playing this game as well.

Rest In Peace, My Friend

August 19th, 2005, Jason

Warning : This is a lame post. I am sorry. Thanks to the stress I am currently having. I will be sitting for my EMG 2016 Electromagnetic Theory mid term examination tonight at 8PM. Things do not look good. -sighs-

I have two friends, whom were introduced to me by my mum about 9 months ago. Since they wanted to remain anonymous, I named them – Mr. Leftie and Mr. Rightie for easy referencing in this post.

For the past 9 months, they have accompanied me every day and night, every place I went, every occasions I attended and in any weather. They have gone through my ups and downs together with me for the past few months. Even when I was in deep shit, they never left me and supported me without asking any questions. They have protected me from danger and hazardous objects all the time. They have sacrificed themselves a lot for me and there is nothing, totally nothing, I can do to repay their kindness and for what they have done for me. Even though Chee Yong, Chun Kit and me are best friends for the past 14 years, what Mr. Leftie and Mr. Rightie have sacrificed for me within the past 9 months are 50 times more than Chee Yong and Chun Kit. It is my biggest honour to have them as my friend.

However, about 2 month ago, Mr. Leftie met an accident, which was due to my carelessness. He got slashed at the chest and broke his arm. The doctor could not do anything and since then, Mr. Leftie was half paralyzed. Mr. Leftie came back to me, and still treated me as his best friend, even after for what I have done to him. He did what a friend should do albeit he was facing difficulties due to his broken arm. I went searching for the best doctor in town to treat Mr. Leftie but the doctors shook their head and did not want to treat Mr. Leftie.

Today, the same thing happened again and it was Mr. Rightie’s turn! Yes, exactly the same thing that happened to Mr. Leftie 2 months ago. I was sad but I could not do anything. I then came to a conclusion as I wrote this post – to abandon them.

I do not mean to be cruel or to abandon them. However, with both of them currently paralysed, it is time for me to abandon my best friends. They are not able to protect me anymore. They are not reliable anymore. They are not as efficient as they used to be. They are old, smelly and dirty. They have changed from good to worst. They are not the ones that I once knew anymore. I must abandon them for my own good.

To Mr. Leftie and Mr. Rightie,

I am going to abandon you and cut off any relationship between you and me soon. I hate to do this, but I have to. Thanks for being my best friends for the past 9 months. Without you two, I would have stepped into lots of shits. Thank you! -sniff sniff-

Here are their photos as a rememberance.

Side story : I was in the library studying for my paper with Jeremy today. As I was reading my notes, the picture of Isabelle doing this came to my mind. I laughed suddenly and Jeremy was looking at me with his dumfounded look. -lol-

Featured Blog - “Riddle Corner”

August 18th, 2005, Jason

I have nothing to blog lately (Actually I do have, but they are all related to food.) as I am currently spending most of my time (day and night) in the library, studying for my mid term examinations and preparing for my final examination, which is about 6 weeks from now. I have promised my parents and I have to give my best shot, hoping that I will not disappoint them. However, there is one subject, EMG 2016 Electromagnetic Theory does not look good and I am in deep shit now!

For today’s post, I am going to introduce the forth-featured blog of “Jason Mumbles”, which is “Riddle Corner” by Chloe, also known as Wan Ying. I wanted to feature her blog few many many many months back, but somehow I did not do so because she was not updating her blog for quite a long time and she slightly changed her blogging style not long after she came back from her hiatus. Anyway, after reading her blog for some time, with her consistent update, I think this is the right time. (Excuses! Excuses!) I got to know her blog through NeeNee, when Chloe and her were colleagues during their internship period in one of the local magazines company. She started her blog in January 2005 and I have been reading her blog since then. (She is a final year student in UTAR, currently pursueing her degree in Journalism.)

She writes very good articles / posts and every sentence connects to the next sentence smoothly. The flow of the article is very smooth, if I am to describe it that way. She is able to convey her ideas easily through words and yet, a little thinking is required when she writes about certain thought provoking issues. She writes about her daily life, interesting stuffs that happened around her, thought provoking articles and of course, girls’ daily rantings. Although she does write about her daily life, she has a more specific theme, unlike my blog, which is a super huge pot of “rojaks“. –shrugs-

She does not sit in front of the computer for many hours like me, just to stalk people’s blog. Neither she has a long list of daily reads nor she pings PPS. In other words, her existence in blogsphere is basically invisible and I bet, only a few friends know the existence of her blog. Therefore, hopefully with me featuring her blog in “Jason Mumbles”, you will have another blog to read or to be bookmarked.

Feeling Melancholy

August 16th, 2005, Jason

Have you ever been so down or moody for no reasons until you just do not feel like doing anything?

I was in such mood last week, especially Monday and Tuesday. I have no idea why I felt so. The only reason I came up was the after effect of my trip to K.L.. Throughout the 6 days when I was in K.L., I have so much fun and I was never alone (most of the time) at all. Chee Yong, Lee Hwee and Chun Kit accompanied me day and night, “yamcha”-ing at Feeling Café or typical “mamak” stall. Then, I got to meet a lot of bloggers and more new friends. In conclusion, every second was meant to be fun, nothing but fun and happiness.

However, when I came back to Malacca on Sunday, something just did not seem right. I was alone again and I was feeling lonely. I missed all the fun that I had with my friends in UKM and of meeting up with new friends. As I entered my room, I saw my aging and dying Dell computer, my table, bed and the 4 walls. Every thing was so lifeless. I did not have the mood to study for the next 2 days. I skipped 2 morning classes, I surfed the blogsphere and internet aimlessly, I slept most of the time, and flipped the notes for the sake of flipping them. All I wanted to do at that time was to stay inside the room and do nothing.

It was Tuesday evening when I had a short chat with NeeNee on MSN messenger. We had different opinions on an issue and she went offline as we were debating over the issue. I took my once-dead-but-got-revived Nokia 6100 and started to type a very long SMS to her. Tears came out as I keyed in her number. (Not crying! Tears just flow out naturally, OK?) (Nee, are you still keeping that SMS?) After that, I felt so much better and every thing was back to normal again.

I am fine, now.

What is the main point of this post? I have no idea. I could be saying that I miss my friends, or I miss all the fun I had in K.L., or I was just having my PMS. (The currently missing in action, Juliana said guys also have PMS and there is a special term for it. –sweat-) Just take it as a mumbling post from Jason who likes to mumble.

Updated 17/8 at 12:11PM.

Twinsmom said I am experiencing “Fun Withdrawal Symptom”. -lol-

P/S :

I better come up with a better post soon before someone throws rotten watermelons, tomatoes, vegetables or eggs.

I will be having exams on Thursday, Friday and the following Monday. Wish me luck!
