Lasagna, Anyone?
August 24th, 2005, Jason
I just do not have the feel / mood to write Part II of my “In Reality, Jason Is…” series. (Click here for Part I.) Thanks to the house fius that tripped for no reason the other day. Besides, I am sort of having blogger’s block nowadays, which explains the slow update recently. Although Auntie Suzette has suggested some “wicked” topics to blog, I still do not have a good topic to blog about.
I have been to Secret Recipe a few times only, to be exact, less than 5 times. The first time I went to Secret Recipe was to celebrate NeeNee’s 21st birthday early this January. I think that was my first time visiting Secret Recipe, or was it my second time. –ponders- Anyway, whenever I am in such restaurant / café, if their menu has “Lasagna”, most likely I will give it a try.

Lasagna is both a form of pasta in sheets and also a dish made with alternate layers of pasta, cheese, and minced meet. In other words, Lasagna consists of pasta, cheese, minced meet, pasta, cheese, minced meet, pasta, cheese, minced meet, pasta… (Duh!) Some lasagna is served with breads, like the one in Secret Recipe, while some serve lasagna only. Basically, 2 types of cheeses are used in lasagna. They are “Ricotta” and “Parmesan” cheese.

After trying different places of Lasagna, Secret Recipe’s can be considered as one of the few good ones. There is another one, which is the best I have tasted, but I have forgotten the franchise name. I ate it when I was Form 4, when I was on my trip to Klang to meet 2 BratS friends of mine. If you are wondering what is BratS, BratS is a journalism program for teenagers aged between 15 and 18, conducted by The Star newspaper. BratS stands for Bright Roving Annoying TeenS. (I am one of them.)
Most café / restaurant offers 2 choices – beef or chicken lasagna in their menu. If you do eat beef, do go for it instead of chicken. Beef goes well with the cheese and pasta, not to mention that the texture of the minced beef provides a better taste and feeling as you chew it. This makes me wonder when will I get to see pork lasagna; it might tastes good, I guess. After all, pork has a little sweetness in it. For your information, lasagna is one of Garfield’s favourite foods. Do correct me if I am wrong.
If you happen to have your tea or meal in Secret Recipe, you can try this too, other than their delicious cakes.

P/S :
I have been a little bit busy with my assignments (1 is due on the 25th of August and 2 on the 12th of September.) and something else, which I will disclose in near future. (For those who know, ssshhh… –grins-)
I had this for dinner when I went out with Yinn 1.5 months ago.
