I Watch Movies Alone
It has been quite sometime since I watched my last movie in the cinema. If not mistaken, the last trip to cinema was like four to five months ago. I slept at 7.30AM in the morning, due to somebody wanted me to accompany her by chatting with her to keep her awake while she completes the assignment. Next time I should blog about her. She got some interesting stories with my ex-roomate, Chris. Anyway, I woke up at 12PM and was talking to Earthtone in MSN Messenger when she said “Hitch” was a nice movie and worth watching in the cinema. It was 1.30PM at that time.
I checked the movie listing in my area and there was a show at 2:45PM. I bid goodbye to Earthtone and got myself ready to watch the movie alone. Yes, I repeat that, A-L-O-N-E, alone. I reached there at 2PM sharp and bought my tickets, RM5 with my MMU student card. Since it was still early, I went to the arcade to kick some ass. I inserted a token, selected my characters and started to whack the dumified CPU enemy. Now, came a young malay guy who is in his early twenties, came to challenge me. I was nervous and feel excited. This is the main reason why I love playing versus game in arcade. The thrill of being challenged, the excitement you get while playing against a skillful player and of course, the sweetness of victory and sourness of being defeated. Well, apparently, it was a mistake for him to challenge me. It only took me less than 2 minutes and 1 chracter to finish his team that consisted of 3 characters. Bah~! I gained nothing at all in defeating him.
I watched the movie and came out, feeling satisfied and happy. I had a great time inside there even though I was watching alone. The movie is great, the jokes are great, the storyline is a little bit predictable but yet, it is still a thumbs up movie. I would give 7 out of 10 for this movie. It will be better if you bring along your girl friend or desired girl to watch it together. After all, it is a romance comedy movie. My seat was right in the middle of the cinema. Left, right, front and back were couples, with me sitting right in the middle of them. The receptionist is very smart, she gave me a seat where the left and right hand side’s couples were 3 seats away from me.
Well, I enjoyed myself even though I was alone. I actually prefered to watch movie alone nowadays. I am sick of waiting for my housemates/friends to make a decision whether to watch or not to watch. I am sick of inviting them over and over again when they do not have the intention to watch yet they say they want to watch the movie. I am sick of waiting for them to get ready or their slumber-ness. I am sick of following them around in the shopping complex. I am sick of being late or missed out my favourite movie because of them. By watching alone, I have the absolute power to decide what movie to watch, when to watch and how to watch. For your information, I missed out a lot of movies because of my housemates.
Since then, I decided to watch movie alone. At first, I felt weird as I entered the cinema but after I came out, I never feel so satisfied, so good and so enjoyed before. I even watched 3 movies in 1 day, from 2PM until 9PM, with 3 different types of movies and different mood. I told my friends about it and they said I was crazy and lifeless. Bah~! I do not care! I watched Ladder 49 that made me shed my tears in the cinema, Yesterday Once More that made me giggled throughout the movie by watching Andy Lau and Sammi Cheng acting together, and The Terminal that touched my heart deeply. I am still very proud of that even though my friends said that I am/was lifeless.
Well, I truly enjoyed the experience of watching movies alone in the cinema. What about you?

OMG, I havent watched movie in cinema alone for a long time liao…dun dare to go leh…dem paiseh when everyone looking at you wor….so I watch DVD at home lor…hehe same oso wat :p

I have never done that :p If i were to watch a movie alone, i’d rather buy the VCD or DVD and watch it at home (if haven’t released, either get the pirated one or wait for original). Going to cinema alone has never been my option :p
I watch many movies on my computer alone, though :D DVDrip, Screeners, TeleSync… you know what I mean :p

yea…doing stuff alone isn’t that bad…i remember reading an article that where this woman was criticized for not sharing every moment of her life with her loved one,but then she commented that you lose out on a lot of valuable and memorable experiences if everything had to be done together. btw,never tried watching movie alone either :P

many of my friends say it is pathetic to watch movies alone.
a fact which i beg to differ.
as a matter of fact, i would prefer watching movies alone (although i’m not allowed to)
*sighs*
jason, i am as sick and tired as you, for waiting for friends to go to toilet or miss the first part of the movie.
my intention is the movie itself, not to run around grabbing food stuffs and miss the first part.
anyway, think u shoud add SEPET to your list.
it is a really beautiful movie.

I don’t see it as a problem to see movie alone.
Maybe you guys should catch a ghost story alone in the noon, when there is not many people. That would definitely be a new experience to you, trust me!!

i watched movie alone too… before.. but not in cinema… hahaha.. Shopping alone.. got la..
Cant watch alone, coz i always watch midnite show one.. day time , shopping complex very crowded.. keke
