Bean Bean And Bean Bean Addict
Just hang up a call with NeeNee which lasted for 40 minutes and 24 seconds with my mobile phone. However, she is in my Active 5, so it was not so expensive after all. I do not care the cost of the call, its the topic we chatted that matters and it sure worths every single cent of them. -smile-
As usual, I am on hyper mode again. Whenever after I have a nice chat with her, my mood, no matter how bad it is will also become good. You could see me smiling with the “fak hao 发骚” look even when I am typing this. The effect would last bout an hour or longer, depending on how fun and nice the conversation was. My housemate, Aellyno even once asked me to stop showing that “fak hao” face whenI finish chatting with NeeNee. But, I cannot help it.
Since 5xmom blogged about butter cake that is baked with love, I also want to blog about soya bean milk that is boiled with love. NeeNee loves to drink soya bean milk very much until there was one period when she drank it everyday. She even gave a name to this beverage - “Bean Bean”. It was one day when I found out that her favourite drink was Bean Bean. I did not know where I got the courage from and decided to give it a try, so that NeeNee could drink home made soya bean. It was my first time boiling bean bean for her and I was super anxious and excited about it. I went to search for the receipe and brought out the machine from my kitchen’s cabinet.
Then, I went to the mini market to select the beans just to ensure that the beans were fresh or not spoilt and also to check its quality before buying them back. I always believe that preparing and getting the right ingredient are very important steps in cooking and I should not neglect the processes. After soaking them, I rinsed them every 1 hour or so until I went to bed, so that the beans would absorb clean water and also to pour away the dirts that came out from the beans. Meanwhile, I rubbed the beans in between my palms to remove the little transparent skin that wraps around the bean as the skin spoils the taste of the Bean Bean if there is too much of them. By then, my hands were full of wrinkles due to too much soaking in the water, for about 3 to 4 hours. Then, I left it there to soak until the next day or at least 8 hours so that the beans were soft enough to be grinded.
Waking up as early as 8AM in the morning, I rinsed the beans for the last time and started to grind them with the machine. Although the machine saved a lot of time in grinding them, it still need quite some work, not to mention the mess that have to clean up after that. After numerous rounds of grinding, squeezing and pouring, it was ready to be boiled. The Bean Bean has to be boiled and usually it would take 75 minutes or longer, depends on how many litres. However, it was not as simple as that. The Bean Bean has to be stirred non-stop until it is boiled. If you stop stirring it for more than 30 to 45 seconds, the Bean Bean would have burnt smell and you will have a difficult time in scrubing the pot. Worst thing is that you cannot smell it but you can only taste it when you drink it.
After it was boiled, I poured into a thermo flask and gave her a call. She picked up and I told her that I was on the way to her house to deliver the boiling Bean Bean. I handed the flusk to her and she was touched when she got hold of it. I could feel it and it was comfirmed by the smile which she put on her face, a very sweet smile indeed. She said, “Thank you.” I felt satisfied and all the work and troubles were worth it after all.
If you put all the passion and love you have in anything you do for your friend or your loves one, it will always be the best and only you can give them the feeling. It is the same in this case. Until now, NeeNee still say that my Bean Bean is still the best. Why? It is not because of the ingredient I used neither it is because of the machine. It is because of the love that contain inside the Bean Bean that makes it the best. Am I right, NeeNee?
