I Will Miss You, A19GP

An adult came into the shop today and bought my notebook, which I always use when I am in the shop. It is a Sony VAIO A19GP and costs a bomb - RM7488. Please click here for more details about the notebook. This Malay guy came into the shop and was checking out my notebook. Okay, it was not mine, but theorically, it was. He asked bout the price again and decided to buy my notebook. Not only that, he saw the digital camera - Canon Ixus I, which was being displayed above the rack and decided to buy it as well at the price of RM1399. Then, her daughter, about 6 to 7 years old wanted a present. Therefore, the father decided to buy her a 5GB Creative Nomad Nuvo 2 for her, which costs RM999.

So, after buying so much things, which nearly cost about RM10k, we expected that he would pay by using credit card. No, he did not pay by credit card. He paid by cash! Yes, RM10k cash - all in RM50 note. I was stunned as in my 20 years, I only managed to see so much money, a whopping RM10k in RM50 notes. My boss was busy counting the money, pieces by pieces. He smiled until we could not even see his eyes, except his teeth. Before this customer left, my boss actually said “Thank You” and “Have A Nice Day.” for the first time to a customer. The whole shop, only I do that to customers. Yeah, I have very good manners, very fakish though.

Now, with my notebook gone and there is no other notebook left, I have to use our technician’s old computer - a 600Mhz AMD with 256MB Ram. However, at least, it did not lag or hang when I want to do my surfing or chatting. Fine enough, but I have to fight with my collegue to use that computer! I cannot use the Acer notebook as my work station, because Acer notebook comes and goes very fast. It takes 3 hours to configure a new computer into my preference and its very tedious. Hopefully my boss will take in one or two Sony VAIO notebooks next week, and I got a new notebook to use. Sony VAIO notebooks are not cheap and they stay in my shop longer.

To my notebook, if you ever visit my page, I want to say “Thank You” for serving me well for the past 2 months and I will miss you very much. Do write back once you settle down in Australia with the new owner, ok? -sniff sniff-
